I think a lot of those are Geneon titles, and have seen a price drop. Could be wrong, however.
What Monty Python are you looking at?
 
They have the set on sale at Costco.

Yeah, a lot of titles have been rereleased recently. And Right Stuf is having the Genon Sale. But it might be a temp cut. Those dvd's still list for $30.

Edit: YEah, this must be a sale like the Genon sale at Right Stuf. Except where at RS its buy two get one free at DDD it's all sets half off.
 
Holy crap, thanks for the heads up Admiral. I've been meaning to pick up the Strawberry Eggs series for some time now.

*sigh* I wish I had $60 on hand though. Might be a week or so.

Speaking of El Hazard, anyone know the difference between the three sets. I know the Magnificent world set is the OVA's. That's a definite. The TV Series is a long versions of the OVA's. a 26 episode retelling of the OVA's But what is the Alternative world set?
 
I realy hate how they only put 3 episodes on a disk. Pressure from the Japanese Licenser. They should put 4 to five and have no more than six discs. Not 8. Eight suks. It's not realistic to see the whole series. There's a reason Cowboy Bebop is on six disks.
 
El Hazard: The Alternate World is a 13-episode TV series that followed the second Magnificent World OVA (which was 4 eps). I own the entire series, but have only watched The Wanderers so far, which was the TV series retelling of the original 7 episode OVA. I believe Alternate World was the last thing they made for that series.

Regarding El Hazard, you may want to avoid The Wanderers TV series and Alternative World unless you're a real die-hard fan of the series. They're rather, umm... not good. Those original OVAs are to die for, though.

Rant: Honestly, what's the point of sending people to an alternative world if you're just going to throw them into yet another alternative world? And that doesn't even scratch the surface of my problems with that part of the franchise. Bleh.
 
Awesome prices indeed I got Ai yori Aoshi : enishi Vol. 3 Limited ed set w/figs for 19.95 (best buy wanted 43.99 in store and 33.99 online), and stellvia for 12.47 and submarine 707r for 9.99, thanx alot and you may want to re title this post asap so everyone can get in on these awesome deals for Geneon. Thanks for the heads up. I picked up Big O II, Hellsing, and Submarine 707R. R.O.D. the TV was very tempting, but I've already spent wayyy too much. The Escaflowne set will have to wait for another day, perhaps during the next 20% off sale.
 
I'm very conflicted. I have two choices. Focus getting complete series or get the shows I want to watch even though they aren't finished. I usually always go with the latter but there are a ton ioof shows I want to sample.

For example, I could get the Last Exile three pack. But if I do, then I'll have to eventually get 4-7 and it will probably cost me a lot more than if I got the box set at a later date. Also, supposedly the Last Exile boxed set comes out on the 14th. If the sale goes on till the end of the month, I'd rather get the whole thing half off. (Still waiting on DD CS for an expiration date.)

Same with ROD TV. I'll definately get the OVA but I don't want to get DVD's 1-3 for $45 and then have to spend another $100 for discs 4-8 at a later date.

Too much choice... too little money.

I hear that. I came so close to adding on R.O.D. the TV, but then I looked up how many volumes it's going to end up with. Seven... cha-ching! :p
 
damn, I just ordered my last of my anime budget for the year. Great, hopefully this deals go by the end of the month or soemthing. Really makes me mad that I have such luck. Thanks for the deal by the way.

Not sure if the Last Exile boxed set will be 50% off but vol 4-6 are $14.97 each. I've been waiting to get the last volume so I can start watching it. I've been keeping up with ROD TV and it's a really fun and great series.

The sale seems to be dying in pieces. There are a few low prices left, but a lot of them are being hiked back up. The Cowboy Bebop and R.O.D. the TV volumes (with the exception of #1 w/ artbox) have been raised from the sale price of $14 back to $23. Broke my heart. :(
 
YEah, some titles are back up in price but some are still half off...

For examle, volume 5 and 6 of HGJ are $15. Vol 1 ith box is still $20. But the rest are normal discounted price.

I literally ppaced my orders before this sale ended, so I lucked out.

Niiiice, sblymnl. Have you seen any episodes so far? I've got 1-13 and needless to say I am extremely content with it. Nothing like I've ever seen before (and that's a good thing). You will hopefully not be disappointed, just be prepared for a dark mindfuck of an experience.
 
Actually, it's a Geneon-across-the-board sale. My friend who works for an entertainment database co. got a packet list about it over a month ago. It's being instituted with the bigger retail players of anime.

how are you getting about half off? Cowboy Bebop is $24/Session. Evangelion Collection is still $101. Is there some coupon code?
