I spotted this at an EB store today. I was expecting the USED price to be $44.99; however it was a mere $24.99 It also included the dance mat (YMMV, it was handwritten that the mat was included).

I'm positive this deal is only available at a few stores since it's pretty tough to find. Gamestop's website doesn't even have it listed anymore so we can't use the option to check to see if any local stores have it in stock.

Best of luck to those of you who search for it!

Yeah, getting the mat at that price is YMMV. It was handwritten on the price tag that the mat was included.

Are there any cheap 3rd party mats that the game is compatible with?

I have to imagine that most folks will trade in the mat and the game together. That said, I assume the MC Groove mats would work fine with it.

I picked this up a few weeks ago at EB. WHen I saw the price tag of 24.99, I saw that "Game Only" was cut off a bit, so I asked the clerk. When he said the mat was actually included, I immediately purchashed it. Now I just need another mat (or a PS2 mat to GC converter, since I have 3 ps2 mats.)

Mario Dance Mix is getting quite hard to find again... Reprint this time around is highly unlikely...grab your dance mix while you can.

Eh, I've seen Gamecube dance mats on clearance occasionally at places like Best Buy. I'd be patient though, I think this game was over-ordered since it sold out everywhere last Christmas and all the stores thought they'd really stock up for this year. Since the Wii will be out this holiday season and most parents probably won't realize that DDR Mario will work on the Wii they just bought for their kids, I wouldn't be surprised if there's still plenty of these sealed left on the shelves at Circuit City and other chains after the holidays. They're prime for an $8.95 Jan. or Feb. clearance sale like we've seen with DDR bundles in the past. I know my Circuit City got in a ton of DDR Mario bundles in at the beginning of summer and it doesn't look like they've sold any at $50 a pop. I'm keeping my eyes on those and the Real World Golf bundles waiting for the inevitable sale.

I don't know rictor... not too many around in my neck of the woods, also a new bundle on ebay is selling for above retail right now. might get lucky waiting..but then again .. (also on a side note all online merchants that sell at retail for mario dance mix are sold out)

Yeah, MC Groovz mats work fine, they just have some extra buttons. Even better, MC Groovz (game-only) goes for $35 on eBay, so it's pretty easy to get a free mat out of a bundle purchase - it's an awful dance game, so don't feel any trepidation in getting rid of it.

These were selling for above retail on Ebay after the reprints were available in stores, weren't they? I know they were while you could order them direct from Nintendo.

In any case, I'm still looking for an adapter that will make my Red Octane pad work with this, if the popularity of this this time around didn't trigger it, it will probably never happen.

If I can use my Cobalt Flux with the game (I guess I could try connecting it with my PS2 to Gamecube adapter and try it with any game since a dance pad is just a giant d-pad), I might pick it up since I really don't want to pay extra for a soft pad that I have no use for.

I went to a couple of local Gamestops and its $24.99 for the game only. They had it used with the mat with $44.99 which you might as well buy new for $49.99. I guess OP Gamestop was lazy and put the wrong label onto the game. I wish my Gamestops would have such lazy workers. This was in the Baldwin Park and Montebello Town Center stores in LA area.

I've been holding off on buying this (after selling my original one for $110 or so before Christmas last year) assuming I'd be able to pick it up cheap eventually. But perhaps I should just get one at EB while they still have them. $50 in EB credit only costs me $25 or so, so I'm not sure what I'm waiting for. I guess $8.96 at CC would be cool :D.

Anyway, looking on ebay it seems there are alot of people trying to sell them for over retail. Check out this particularly heinous auction:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DANCE-DANCE-MAR...ryZ62053QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

$60 + $32.92 (!) for shipping!

Hmmm... but looking at completed auctions I see lots of $65 and $69.99 and even some $79.99, all with $10-$20 shipping on top.

I don't get it as I still see these everywhere as well. I guess I'll need to take a closer look and make sure they aren't all of a sudden running low (I know there were 2 at an EB I went to yesterday). The game was one of the top sellers on the GC just recently so they could be running low. I will need to pick one up soon if that is the case.

Really these were everywhere after the reprint... but they are getting harder to find. Also consider that all online retailers are sold out with the exception of crap companies like gamequestdirect that charge over retail. I wouldn't wait too much longer if you are needing one. I don't think prices will hit the $150 range they were, but I can easily see $75-$85 plus shipping for a new one.

A used game only is fetching around $50 shipped now... and the game plus mat is going for around $70 shipped now ... I highly suggest cags pick up them if they see them if they are interested in the game.

wow, i seriously need to get back to the mall and see if they have another set of mario ddr with the mat used for 24.99--- i already have a set for myself and would trade the other on here or put it on ebay. (but eb is probably evil and marked the price back up)
