[DEAD] Amazon DotD 09/22/08: Six Feet Under - The Complete Series Gift Set $110

i picked up the first season for 10 bucks one day, and wow is it good. still though 110$ at a time to drop on a show. i wish it was The Wire, id bite in a heartbeat. or Sopranos for that matter...

I have this set, and spent right around that much for it. The GF and I are going through it now. I have seen the 1st season and parts of the second. It is a great show. Well worth the price, and one of the best packaging available.

Oh good! I pulled the trigger on this right away and then started to worry that this wasn't a cheap enough deal. One of my coworkers and I have been watching True Blood and she keeps telling me how good Six Feet Under is. I never got to see it because I don't have Showtime, but now I'm glad this box set is coming my way.

SFU is a great show and if I didn't already own all the episodes I mighta been all over this one. As an above poster mentioned though, wouldn't be too surprised to see a Blu version of this show. Regardless it comes highly recommended.

Six Feet Under was on HBO. ;)

But seriously, I would recommend SFU to anybody. I picked up all the sets earlier this year, and could not have been more pleased. It's a great show.

I tried watching True Blood, but it did nothing at all for me other than leave me disappointed. On the other hand, I cannot recommend Six Feet Under enough!

 My mistake. I don't have anything beyond basic cable, so sometimes I forget what show is on which channel. Thanks!

Add in 8% sales tax, and they're $21.59 each. Five of those would be right under $108. This deal gets you all five seasons, plus the two soundtracks, as well as the unique packaging, for $2 more, shipped right to your door.

If you've been thinking about getting SFU, this is the time to jump on it.

good deal...already have all 5 seasons (hate the odd sized 1st season packaging) though...one of the best complete shows i have ever seen

The show was amazing in its first season, good in its second, and okay in seasons 3-5. The last scene of the series finale, though, is the best thing that's ever been on dramatic television. Yeah, I'm comfortable saying that.

this is incredibly tempting, my wife and i LOVE watching tv series on discs.
i just dont know if i want to pull the trigger or just netflix it all.

Agreed that seasons 1 & 2 were great. Other seasons were still better than 99% of what you find on on Network TV, but not up to previous seasons. The last 10 minutes of the series finale should serve as a guide on how to end a show (unlike that BS that David Chase dumped on us with the Sopranos).

Looking at the Sopranos pricing...

I wouldn't pay $500 for SFU on Blu-ray

The girlfriend and I rented seasons 1-3 from Blockbuster, and we're absolutely pissed that none of them carry seasons 4-5 anymore. I'd buy them, but I can't bring myself to buy two seasons of a show that I don't own the first three of.

I try to buy everything on blu-ray but I ended up ordering this because it may take for ever to go blu and the price will be ridiculous anyway. I figure this will be great to watch over Christmas break when I have time.
