(DEAD) Anchorman - $9.99 - Blu-Ray at Best Buy (online only)

Not sure the last time I watched my Anchorman DVD but for $9.99 I think it's worth the upgrade. I'm just glad I could go pick it up rather than having to wait 3 weeks like when Minority Report was on sale for the same price.

Just bought the last copy. Online pickup won't let me order so I had to reserved mine on the phone. BTW, I bought another Beauty & the Beast IronPack as well. :D

Umm... I suggest you to order now with store pickup (any place) then wait within 8 days to see if online or nearest store has them in stock. Switch to whatever you want and that's it.

Even the NY Stores were all mostly sold out, have to travel a little over an hour to pick up 2 copies in Manhattan ( One for me and my friend, we are both HUGE fans of Anchorman who regularly quote the entire movie to one another).

Totally worth it

Milk would be a bad choice for a trip that long. Your car would stank like a smelly pirate hooker.

;)

Honestly for anyone who likes to quote this film (and maybe likes rap music), seek out the Flamez Mixtape by Kutt Calhoun. It was released online for free back in 2007 and you can probably still get a hold of it now. There is also a bonus disc, which is also great but a little harder to find.

The way they incorporate Anchorman quotes into the songs is very funny and well done. It's basically the reason why I will now own the DVD, HD DVD, and Blu Ray of Anchorman. Can u say "Triple Dip" ?

Best Buy screwed up my order. Ordered it online with in store pick up and the only store that had it in stock was the store by my wife's job, so I put the order in there and she picked it up on her lunch. Low and behold, when she gets home I open the bag and they put the DVD copy in even though the order was for the Blu-Ray. And now they're showing as out of stock! This is why I hate Best Buy, they always screw up because of their incompetent employees. Now to find out when the hell I'm going to be able to exchange this and get what I ordered.

that's pretty shitty man! I thought they had fail-safes to prevent that, like I know the sku has to be scanned to match up in the POS system..I would literally go back and demand some sort of rain-check for the BD at the same exact price or at least a $5 gift card and money refunded. Cash too if you used any other form of payment than that. those bastards..

The system just requires the rep picking the order to note that it's been picked for in-store pickup, not anything more than that.

I'd be pissed like the CAG above who had the wrong item picked for pickup.

I've had BB put the wrong item in store more times than I care to admit, and it's usually a big hassle convincing them I know what I ordered. :p It's especially bad for limited editions, or Best Buy "exclusives"; they are usually too incompetent to grab the right versions, so unless it's an extreme situation (like when I had surgery last year and getting out to a BB was out of the question) I never do in store pickup for anything I have stock questions about. (i.e., if I think it'll sell out before I can get to the store to pick up)

I've had better luck with online ordering/shipping, though, they usually get the right thing.
You may be thinking of gift cards and not RZ certs. RZ certs always have to have the pre-tax total more than the cert value, otherwise they won't work to deduct items off of the total, and they do this pre-tax. Gift cards work post-tax and they can be used on items of any value and if there's residual value, it remains on the card.

I've never been able to use RZ certs on a purchase that is less than the cert value, and it says is clearly on the terms and conditions for the certificate about the pre-tax total being more than the certificate's value.

If you say you've been doing it, I have no idea how that's the case because the system prevents you from doing it.
It looks as though you are correct. I did not have giftcards, but I did use the certificates 2 times previously for items that were 9.99 before tax. I was able to use one yesterday when I picked up this purchase, the manager did an override for me. I guess that is what also happened the other times as well. Although I don't remember anyone being called over to do so. I can't gripe, they took the certificate without any problem.

that happened to me a couple times. except i was the one picking up the item, not anyone else, so i noticed it immediately and made them go get another copy.

incidentally, you can bring it back and explain your situation, they may replace your item. if not, call the manager, threaten to call corporate. my gf works for BB (geek squad) and she tells me that that line scares the hell out of them. corporate will do pretty much everything to appease the customer, and deduct it from the store's bottom line. store managers know this and avoid it at all cost.

if they say its OOS, ask for a rain check or gift card.

Picked up the copy I ordered online in store today.

I cannot believe the amount of extras this :br: has.

The extras alone make this $10 well spent.

I placed an order for this for store pick-up right after the deal was posted and never got a notice about my order being ready for pick-up for the rest of the day, which I thought was weird. So when I got home work yesterday I get a notice about that they cannot find the item and my order has been cancelled ok no big deal I missed out on the deal. But the Best Buy I ordered from still shows the item in-stock for pick-up at the new $24.99 price so I call and the guy finds 3-4 copies on the shelf after being on-hold for like 30 seconds. So i aske the guy if it just got re-stocked and he said no since he was the one that did that days shelf re-stocks so now I am kind of pissed off because i really wanted to upgrade my HD-DVD copy of the movie.

Picked up my copy with no problem. The extras are fantastic. I was afraid they would fuck up my order which they have done in the past. I ordered Bad Lieutenant and instead of giving me the original they gave me the one with Nic Cage. I kept it and made another online order. They finally got that one right. Not a big deal considering the Nic Cage version was more expensive ($14.99).

That is awful of Best Buy to do. Every time I order an item for store pick up at Best Buy they always have my purchase available and never gift wrapped or boxed up so I can tell I'm getting the correct item. You may want to think about reporting this store to corporate to reveal their gift-wrapping scheme. I wonder how long this has been going on for. Just image if the decided to put a "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL X-MAS" tag on it. You'd be stuck with the item and a receipt that's out-dated.
