Not sure if promo is true but preordering is usually $5 witch is the same price as the magazine. You could always cancel you preorder and get your money back and get the mag for free if you really wanted to though.

You save tax. However you might have that promo return policy in place if you try to return it without the magazine.

The promo is right on the front cover, and also in the Prototype cover story. I'd imagine it would package out if rung up together.

got my magazine yesterday. saw the coupons and was like "this is it?!".
considering my local BBY used section is crap... i highly doubt i'll be able to used any of these coupons! Unless.... Darkness 2 and Yakuza drops to $29.99 or $19.99 this month then these coupons are not that impressive to me.

This sucks man. Went to my local store and they had the new magazines out so I was scoping out if they had any Homefronts or anything. Turns out they did I asked the Gaming guy if I would be allowed to use their coupons from a store copy since I just signed up mid-last month and from what I've been told most people either don't get the second month in the mail at all, or get it really late.

He went back and talked to a manager and said that no way, we can't allow people to just "use" our store coupons. I tried explaining again I might not get this month's at all or if so it'll be too late to really use the coupons (like with Rage and ME2 last month, my local store sold out immediately). He just repeated what the manager said...

They really need to change the policy if they're going to take so long to send the magazines out. Or give some sort of voucher to get the second month (assuming they give you a store copy for the first month) free.
 
What confoosious said, when I signed up, the gaming rep didn't even have to ask the manager and just gave me the current issue (and the Jan/Feb expired issue...). The cashier gave me trouble though, but the gaming rep came and sorted it out.

For anyone wondering what on earth to do with that Metroid/S&P coupon...

I just called my local BB, and the associate I talked to told me they don't carry them new anymore and that I'd have to get a manager override in order to use it on pre-owned copies.

So... YMMV to the extreme, since you'd have to be lucky enough to find both of those games used in the same store AND get a manager to let you use the coupon on them. Bummer. :(

Just flip the $5 pre-order to another purchase instead of a return.

Got Bulletstorm Limited Edition for $5. I wasn't going to drive around the world for it and they were the same price.

Rage & Bulletstorm aren't my 'type' of games, but for $5, what the hell.
 
I had to get a manager to override to get to use the Homefront coupon, it won't let you do the coupon and GCU discount.

Considering that those coupons don't start till 4/8, I have no doubt that's most likely why it didn't work.
 
I've got a ps3 slipcase with novella of final fantasy if someone wants to pay for the shipping. I also have an Xbox Copy with the game that I don't want I have buyers remorse...

Damn thread went crazy since I posted about them not letting me use a "house" coupon...

Anyway I DID tell them I was a RZ Unlocked member, they said it doesn't matter. Also I thought you got an extra 10% when trading stuff in, he scanned my card and everything and it was a no-go...maybe their system was screwing up, I just know I was too lazy to deal with it.

Yet, oddly enough I actually ended up receiving the magazine in the mail yesterday anyway (I get my mail really late at my house)...so either way no biggie. Guess I'll head back early Monday and hopefully use one or two.

Got my digital copy today AND....NO COUPONS! They must come in a separate email.

I assume it will arrive the day they go live.

Check the mail today and tomorrow. The coupons and AR cards for Kid Icarus should be arriving via USPS.

In the future (should be in time for the May issue), digital subscribers will get their offers via email a few days before the offers go live. They will be digital single use codes.

Just a heads up to those who will need to purchase the mag or need extra coupons. On the front of the mag, there is a special offer that you get the magazine for free when you pre-order prototype 2. Its $5 either way, might as well go the pre-oder route in case you might have the desire to pick up prototype.

Sign into your Reward Zone account. Check to see if you're listed as just Gamer's Club(free version) or Gamer's Club Unlocked. I know I had this issue where I was only showing up as the free tier for a couple months after I signed up in store.

I had them try to 'unlock' me using the SKU from the coupon they had to scan to unlock your Gamer's Club to the paid membership a couple of times after they tried it the first time. But it took the reps on the BB forums going into the system and fixing it before I would get the 10% on trades and 10% off pre-owned to show up automatically.
 
Just tried to pre-order Prototype 2 to get the free copy of April's issue. Not working properly yet and won't package out. So YMMV. Will probably (hopefully) work next week.
 
Depending on how the digital coupons work, I can imagine that it will be a trainwreck with that keyring app deal. Clerks will finally get it through their heads not to take the keyring app and then go too far and assert that "all coupons on your phone" are frauds and won't take them. Going to be hard to work out.

Digital coupons don't necessarily mean on your phone.
 
Read that the digital coupons will be sent separately in the mail on the same card stock paper you would find in the physical mag copy.

And for anyone wondering the Keyring app is not official
 
Did anyone else notice the typo on the coupon pages? On the left hand side of the coupon page, where the coupons are listed #1-8 with a description of each, the description for what is supposed to be "$10 off used game $29.99+" is worded as "$10 off used game $19.99+." Before anyone tries to be a greedy idiot and argue to BB that they should be getting the typo'd deal, know that the actual coupon is worded correctly, but I thought it was interesting to point out. They must have copied the same graphic used in March's edition, as I believe the images of Uncharted and Skyward Sword are the same, and forgot to change the price points.

Oops.
 
At least they aren't making spelling mistakes anymore in their editorial. You shoulda seen their first issue.

But yeah, you know some idiot is gonna try to argue this with a manager.

A couple quick questions--

I searched the OP's of both this and March's threads and followed the links and couldn't find the answers.

The subscription sticker attached to your magazine through the mail with your address and information on it...does it need to stay on when you bring it into the store? The copy I got in the mail today came with the subscription sticker half-peeled off and I would rather just remove it or it's going to annoy me. Reason I ask is that after subscribing the gaming rep's always let me use the in-store copies, but I always had issues with the cashier at checkout. How else can they tell the difference between my copy and the stores? I feel like its unnecessary to keep the BB $4.99 price tag and barcode on the lower right corner if it's a subscribed copy. I'm sure that it will eventually get straightened out in the store, I would just rather not deal with it every time I go in there all month.

Also, with this being my first copy being delivered by mail, wasn't I supposed to get a "welcoming package" to go along with it? I remember seeing mentions of "welcome packages" scattered through these two threads and I just assumed something would come in the mail with my first issue...but it didn't. Does it not come at the same time or how does it work?

Edit: funny that as I was posting this 2 other CAG's asked about their welcome packet lol
 
My welcome packet showed up about a month after i signed up, but this was last year. Im sure its much quicker by now

It came with another set of coupons, GCu stickers for your RZ card and some info
 
I got my welcome pack well after getting the first mag in the mail (signed up in mid-Feb, got the march issue in the mail, also received April), it's a bigger blue envelope with 4 coupons. B2g1 on New games up to $39, B2G1 used, some % off strategy guides and digital downloads.

Also, the coupons themselves should be all that's needed for them to work, rip them out of the magazine and just hand them over.

Edit: also, these coupons expire in July.
