(DEAD) Barnes & Noble 10%-50% coupons
The online coupon is a random percentage, so no, it's not so good unless you get lucky.
Presumably, though, you would see the percentage once you entered the code, and then could dump out before completing the order if the percentage wasn't good enough?

Regardless, meh, they didn't send me an online coupon and I haven't seen one posted anywhere. To my understanding, the ones they did send out were account-specific codes.
Perhaps I was unlucky.
But last night tried to use the non member 50 on 3 buy 2 get one dvds and it only took 50% off one dvd. So it kinda stacked, but I decided to just buy one dvd set for $15 Vs 3 (all $30 each) for $45...
Um, yeah, it says on it "off one item" . . . It didn't "kinda" stack, it did exactly what it was supposed to do. What were you expecting?

You're not unlucky; you're just not a member. Members get to keep the discounted in-store price, plus the use of non-member and member coupons (at the same time on different items, but sometimes YMMV), plus an additional 10% just for being a member. Suppose you did a B2G1 for three $10 items that each have an in-store 10% discount with two 50% coupons (on the two non-free items) and 10% member discount: the total would be something like $8.10 + tax for all three items.

Granted, I think the member coupons are one-time use, so you can only do that combo for as many memberships that you have, but this is the perfect storm for members.

Was contemplating getting some Criterions w/ the coupon and the B2G1F deal, but then saw some box sets. Since with the coupon, a stack of 3 Criterions would come out to be around the same as the usual semiannual sale, I went hunting for some "big game" and asked if they had the Twilight Zone blu-ray. They didn't have it in the store but said they could order it to be sent to me and that the coupon could be applied. All said and done, I was able to order Twilight Zone season 1 blu-ray for $48.xx (which is about $15-$25 cheaper than any place online).

Went to another store and tried the star wars again, this time asking for ship to home. It worked. Although I have heard some say that their order was cancelled, I've seen others that have no issues.

Well I ended up getting Metropolis on BD (canceled my order at Borders.com) and Gamera vs Gyaos/Viras and the Buster Keaton 65th Aniv collection (the Columbia shorts) all for the low price of $32.38. I did good today. :D

I was so happy I stopped and bought the lady of the house a nice bouquet of flowers.

Oh man, that must be awesome. I wish I thought of that.

I almost got Metropolis, but thought I would wait. I've been able to get some KINO blu-rays for $10, so I know if I hold out I'll at least be able to get at this price in the future, but hopefully less. With the coupon I got Shock Corridor and The Naked Kiss Criterion blu's this week.

Scored Deadwood Box Set ($70) shipped to home , Rome Box Set ($60) and Pacific Box Set (Free). Also picked up Mystery Train I wonder it worth $17 or not?
Went to pick up Stars Wars preorder, but it was listed as coming out in 2025 and with a price of $140. Considered getting it, but then realized I could probably get it this black friday for a better price than $70 and not run a risk of having it cancelled and wasting my coupon.
Good luck with that. This is the hottest release of the year it will sell like hot cakes for the $90 amazon has it at. I really doubt Lucas will drop this to $70. And my guess is no store will drop it that low considering most fans will pay $90 for it in september, when it comes out. Maybe BF 2012.

Heh, I'm still waiting for Borders to ship my copy. I may call them tomorrow and ask what the holdup is.

We went out to dinner tonight and to see Biutiful in the theater, and I meant to stop in the Barnes and Noble across the street from the theater in between, but then dinner took too long and we weren't able to make it. Fortunately, the movie let out at 10:54, so I was able to run into Barnes and Noble with literally four minutes left before they closed (took two minutes to get out of the theater and across the street). I grabbed a copy of The White Ribbon on blu-ray, paid, and got out with a minute to spare. Wish I'd had some time to browse, but oh well, that was probably one of the highest things on my list to pick up right now anyway.
Also picked up Mystery Train I wonder it worth $17 or not?
Probably depends on your taste in movies, but I thought that Mystery Train was awesome. But then, I'm a fan of Jim Jarmusch, and I also think that any movie with Tom Waits in it (even if it is just his voice) is great by default, so YMMV. ;) You could probably check out a trailer or a few clips online and see if it looks like your thing.

Mine came today, $25 after a giftcard and sold my original DVD EE set for $30 so that was nice. CAN NOT WAIT TO WATCH IT!
The last coupon in the OP is the 50% coupon.
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to go wait outside B&N until they open.
