Update: Amazon has now pricematched Best Buy's prices!

Best Buy has an amazing deal on the upcoming Disney/Studio Ghibli titles (Arrietty, Whisper of the Heart, and Laputa: Castle in the SKy. They currently have them for $22.99 each, which already is cheaper than anywhere else. But if you buy 2 of them you save an additional $8 instantly. So basically once you add both to your cart the total comes to $37.98 before taxes. I can't imagine these will be any cheaper by the time they're released (which is 5/22). Each film includes a Blu-ray and DVD.

Update:

Just a heads-up that Target will have this same deal in their ad for 5/20-5/26. It's possible BB will too, but this at least bodes well for a stacking opportunity if Disney releases any coupons of their own.

I think the fact that it's in the ad means there's a good chance Amazon will match these prices. Especially if BB has it for this price in their ad too

Thank you. I think I need to get my eyes checked. Pretty sure I didn't see it earlier...
Someone tell me what to buy! Nausicaa is probably my favorite work of animation ever but I've never seen Castle in The Sky or Arrietty.
Castle in the Sky for sure. There's nothing wrong with Arrietty but there's no way it matches up to Castle in the Sky, especially if Nausicaa is your favorite.

perhaps I should have bought Castle in the Sky instead of Whisper of the Heart. Havent seen either, nor Arietty, but you have to buy Arietty as one of the two. Atleast at Target. Finished watching that and enjoyed it. Now watching Whisper of the Heart. Has Disney gotten the rights to Spirited Away? Wondering if we will ever see a bluray release of that.

Didn't Disney always have rights for Spirited Away? They were all released here under Disney.

sorry Im not aware of Disney's history with their Studio Ghibli titles. I just assumed. Well then, hopefully a blu ray release will come soon.

I didn't realize AMZ had matched these. Just ordered Arrietty and Castle in the Sky. Contemplating ordering Whisper of the Heart as well, though I already have Ponyo and Nausicaa.

I'm in the same boat. I have the other 4, but I've never heard of Whispers.

If you enjoy Slice-of-Life/High School Romance type stories, then you'll probably love Whispers of the Heart. Yoshifumi Kondo, Hayao Miyazaki's supposed "successor," directed this film, while Miyazaki worked on the screenplay. Unfortunately, Kondo died a few years after this film was released. This was the only film he directed.
