Here's a damn hot DVD deal for ya, Hitmenow.com has the Limited Collectors editions of both 'a Clockwork Orange' and 'Full Metal Jacket' in "like new" condition for $12.59, according to the website, it includes everything.

These go for around $55 new! They both come with the complete soundtrack and a film frame.

Get on it droogs...

A Clockwork Orange. I don't think I will ever watch that movie again, much less buy it. Totally bizarre. FMJ on the other hand is a good movie.

Anyway, thanks for the deal, but I'll pass on this one.

great deals.

Has anyone order from this website?

Are this versions the digitally remastered with 5.1 Audio?

I just watched Clockwork Orange, last night that movie was friggin weird. I would never buy it. But full metal jacket is great.

Crap, im wondering too after noticing this same deal posted over @ dvdtalk.com, and seeing the following quote -
"Hitmenow is notorious for listing editions incorrectly. Will be a fair deal if it's the regular editions but still a letdown."

Ah hell, well it's on it's way - ill update this shit if its not what they say....

blargh

You guys most likely missed the whole point of Clockwork Orange...

I might buy this except I already own both, and don't really care aout the special editions. ;)

I already have the Kubrick Box Set and the Clockwork Orange soundtrack. One of my favorite movies.
The first half of FMJ is really good too.

I bought the Clockwork Orange, and Cheapy...I'm surprised to hear Clockwork is one of your favorite movies...you seem like such a nie quiet guy....I'm the one that gets my posts deleted for getting to graphic in a post... ;-)

I wonder if you "Get the point as well" , I'm a huge CO fan...I'd love to know your thoughts on it.

PS: The book is about growing up, the movie is about the malevolence of children. ;)

Actually, I though the main point of discussion in the book/movie was moral choice. If you physically/mentally take away a persons ability to make "evil" decisions, are they still a human being?

Check out this dialog from the film:

"Prison Chaplain: Choice! The boy has not a real choice, has he? Self-interest, the fear of physical pain drove him to that grotesque act of self-abasement. The insincerity was clear to be seen. He ceases to be a wrongdoer. He ceases also to be a creature capable of moral choice.

Minister: Padre, there are subtleties! We are not concerned with motives, with the higher ethics. We are concerned only with cutting down crime and with relieving the ghastly congestion in our prisons. He will be your true Christian, ready to turn the other cheek, ready to be crucified rather than crucify, sick to the heart at the thought of killing a fly. Reclamation! Joy before the angels of God! The point is that it works.

Alex (after the procedure) is a Clockwork Orange. The paradox of a living creature unable to make (moral) decisions for himself.

Not much of a deal as CC had FMJ for $9.99 not that long ago. Even then, they are normally $14.99 new at most stores so again... not much of a deal.

Samuel @ DVDTalk ordered both Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket. He received both, they were the pictured versions (collector's editions) and sealed. Good news for all those who got in on the deal. Sadly, I missed it.
