Blockbuster online is offering a 13 month free membership to their online DVD rental service.

To take advantage of this offer, register at the link below and enter promo code "friends" for one free month, then click the second link below for the free year!

man someones going to get FIRED. is there anyway that you can do a screenpaste showing all the details on the page without printing out to paper. I wont have a priinter till tomorrow
 
Awesome I got in on this deal for 6 months, even though it says only 1 month for FREE, says next billing date NOV 11, 05

Press the button that says PRN SCRN on the upper right hand corner of your keyboard then open up PAINT program, and press Ctrl+V(paste)

I made sure I did that uncase they try to screw me in a few months :)
 
It worked for me. I think. It says 1 Month FREE 3 at a time or whatever but then the billing date is mid November. I really hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.
 
I can't get anything to work right now. I think I have the free month trial, everytime I go to My Q, it tells me to sign up again.

Well, if you go to My Account and then to the right of Online Membership: 4 week Free Trial $0.00 for 1 month + tax, click on Change. It will show your current plan, which is the 1 free month, then the next plan, which should be the 6 months free, which will kick in after the first month. Unless Blockbuster catches us and cancels all our 6 and 12 month trials, we should be in the clear.
 
holy crap.......I just checked my account again and I got the free year, sweet!!
it shouldn't end bad since they are the ones offering it not us cheating them. This looks similar to when they gave me a free month for cancelling. It said basically the same thing except it was just a month, not a year.
 
My free month was almost up (5 days away) and it now says mid-november as my next billing date, which seems to be the norm here. If this does indeed work, you sir are my hero.
 
I initially had four weeks until 12 June. Then I did the downgrade thing, extending me to 13 nov for free. Weirdness. Thanks op, for bringing it up, and thanks sc for reviving it with the six months.:D

Same here, and I'm not even able to get a single movie in My Q.
 
i took 4 screen prints (using the print screen then the paste job and saving it)


I doubt they will honor this but i could say look it says right there next bill dat NOV 2005. I really dont care if they would give e coupons or not. werid thing is I wonder if they do charge your credit card can you take this proof as next billing date show it to your credit card company and refuse to pay the bill.....

If the folks at Blockbuster are reading this message, please contact us directly... we want to do the right thing here, we simply don't have enough information documented!


i cancelled my account back on APril 28 2005 if they try to bill me i will call them up. THey should just cancell everyones accounts and not bill anyone. WATCH YOUR CC BILLS

Well, legally, they can't bill you without your authorization. What will probably happen is like you said, they'll cancel the orders and probably offer people an extra couple weeks free for our troubles.
 
Anyone else getting an error when trying to access your account?

It gives me an error, then I try again a few times and it works...kind of strange.
 
While I feel that caution is appropriate sometimes when being a CAG online, now isn't the time, seriously. This isn't buyrite or Cloudspekk or anything, this is Blockbuster Ent. They can't just go charging hundred, maybe even thousands of people without authorization, unless they have some strange desire to wind up bankrupt because of lawsuits. The worst they can do is say "hey guys, we fucked up. Take the free month that we give to everybody else who starts a new account and be happy with it" But they CANNOT charge you without authorization, so all you'll have to do is cancel your account and then boycott Blockbuster for not giving you $90 worth of free services for a private deal or mistake that was subsequently posted to tons of deal sites like CAG.

I signed up too, because it's worth a shot. They screwed up, and if I we end up getting 6 months worth of free movies out of it, then I'm psyched. But if not, I didn't lose anything for trying, so it's not a big deal. They can't steal your money from you, and the worst thing that can happen is you get a month of free service. No need to worry about it, folks.

btw, if i cancell my account, will my free month continue and just stop once the free month is over and not bill my credit card?

As soon as you click CANCEl, that is it. Account closed.

Well I just checked my account. Some changes have been made.

It now says
Online Membership: 6 months FREE 3 at a time $0.00 for 1 month + tax Change | Cancel | View Terms

Next Billing Date: 07/12/2005



Last night it was saying November. I guess they are going to give everyone 2 months free and call it good.
 
what kind of sucks though is you know 1000's of new people joined meaning this is going to kill shipping time even more for people who are paying.

i signed up around 5pm last night and none of my movies shipped yet

my next bill date shows 11/13/2005 but i think they will change as soon as they ship movies out. I think they are doing this by hand

i be shocked if they give me 2 free months cause i think they were happy when i left last month after calling up and complaining all the time : )
 
I tried last night and couldn't get the six month thing to work. This was right in the middle of when lots of people were getting it to work. Oh, well. The one free month will still be nice. Good luck to everyone who got the year or the 6 months, I hope they honor them for you.
 
hmmm still 11/13/05 for me, but the next plan type is worded weird.

is it 1 month or 6?
 
yea 6 months still shows up for me BUT none of my movies have shipped yet. I think once they shipped they rates will be fixxed. Remember they probally got 1000's of accounts to go though by hand

I'm mainly using mine to rent anime that either out of print or too much for me to pop the money down for right now. Now I just need a Netflix deal after this is over with. ^_^
 
Holy Crap in a Hat! They have both the Andy Kaufman Midnight Special AND a Bill Hicks dvd. Gonna have fun here in a couple of days. ^_^

you can use them to rent anything in the store. i love e coupons cause you can print off as many as you want. If you got other video stores that accept others coupons you can use them in there. I cancelled my account on APRIL 28 but my e coupons was good till May 11. I just took them and picked up 4 movies at 3 different places last night

all of them dont go back to monday and it didnt cost me a cent.

back in feb i used the E coupons around 12 times at 10 different places got to love the e coupons
