Hey guys, just got back from Gamestop's sale. I looked in their flyer at the store on the back page and it had Full Spectrum Warrior Ten Hammers for X-Box for $9.99. I looked at the manager and asked her if it was a typo and if she would honor the price. She said that she would have to since its advertised. The ad didnt say if it was a used copy or not so she just gave me a new copy and dropped the price. I than called my friend who is a manager at another Gamestop and he informed that his district caught the typo and put up a disclaimer.

I was met with hostility at Best Buy trying it. My closest Best Buy has what is apparently a rare policy of having to take price matches to the customer service desk. They called a few different people over to look at it and denied it heavily. They even inferred I was in the wrong for even trying it.

Oh well, I'll live without it. Thanks OP.

You were wrong to try it. It says USED in big bold print at the bottom of the page. I'm surprised so many people actually think they're entitled to getting this price matched.

That's why I tried it once at one EB and that was it. Around here, I'd have been shocked if anyone PM'd it.

Well now that I've seen the entire ad flyer, I agree. A co-worker told me about all this last night after he got one from BB and gave me just the page with it on it. I didn't think anything of it, I thought he had just cut out that part to save carrying around the whole flyer. After actually going to a Gamespot a bit ago and looking at the original full ad flyer, I see that he had cut off the parts mentioning its all for used stuff. He said nothing about used games or shadiness.

Now that I've seen the full ad page and read all the posts in this thread, I'm surprised any of the GS/EB managers, let alone the couple of people who got it PM'd, didn't just laugh at the idea. I didn't bring the ad home with me, but I think the word "used" was something like two inches tall. It's pretty obvious.

The ad is for the used price, and the Xbox version of Ten Hammers is indeed $9.99 for a used copy in the systems.

Likely changed the price due to the misprint, but figured there wouldn't be too much of a loss, seeing as for one, most stores will not have one used so soon, and the store only pays around $9 for the trade-in. While minimal, the company still makes some profit. :p

Am I missing something? The whole back page talks about used games. The price range for all the games on that page is consistent with used game prices. The Ten hammers ad doesn't explicitly indicate new or something, how would GS be in a position that they need to honor it as the price for a new copy?
