So I just received a couple packages, and one of them included a previously used DVD.
I've ordered previously used games before and have had no problems whatsoever, so I figure I should be fine ordering a DVD.
This is what I ended up with,
If anyone doesn't know what's wrong with the picture, the set originally comes in a cardboard slipcover box with two slim cases on the inside that holds each disc. What I received was parts of the box that's been ripped apart, cut, and butchered into 2 pieces, along with the 2 discs, and this is how it arrived in the package.
I have other previously viewed DVDs I'm waiting to arrive that I am immensely worried about, and the second part of this collection is also previously used.
I really enjoyed not having to call Hastings customer service to fix things, but looks like I'll be making quite a few calls again this week.
Had I known previously used DVD sets like this were going to get cut into pieces and then sent to me like this, I would've just ordered the used. Normally previously used are better than used, but in this case, it is quite the opposite.
This hasn't ruined my overall experience since I've have had more good experiences than bad with Hastings, but this is definitely not helping their cause.
Seriously though, who cuts a box up into two pieces of cardboard, puts a couple discs in them, and then ships it this way?

Ouch. That makes the collector in me squirm. Remind me not to ever order collections from 'em.
On a brighter note (for me, at least), three of my other Blu-rays came in today (Captain America, Men Who Stare at Goats, and Cowboys & Aliens), all in perfect condition and all extras included (DVD/digital copies). They all have that rental sticker thing in the middle of the disc, but that doesn't bother me at all. Considering I spent $15.99 total, there's no way I'd complain over it.

Previously Viewed are former rentals and are more than likely to be in worse condition and not have their original packaging. Used items are traded in to Hastings and are often held up to a much higher standard than PV titles. This is why PV titles are often found cheaper than the Used ones. That's definitely wrong. Used is almost always better than Previously Viewed. Previously Viewed are former rentals and are more than likely to be in worse condition and not have their original packaging. Well, in my experience with games at least, PV has been better for me, so when I say normally, I should probably clarify that for me it has been, so in this case it is not wrong since it's what I've been accustomed to. But I guess things have changed and I should steer clear of PV. I guess it does make sense though on the USED because they have higher standards of taking them in. Hastings takes box sets and rents each disc individually.. I'm surprised you got a cardboard anything unless they used that as cover art or something.
DVD sets sold as PV usually come in regular DVD cases w/ replacement art. They look bad. I'd steer clear of PV box sets.

I've never had a problem with them. The Hulk blu I just I ordered pv. I'm going to cry if Star Wars comes that way.
