I think i wait for Metal Gear Solid 3: Substance is coming out later this year plus alot extra :)
but they'll probably print less copies and probably charge full price for it?

For $10, it was worth jumping at now.

I'll likely get 3 substance . . . in about a year or so when its under $20 in some deal.

Snake Eater is back in stock but now is $24.99 (as I said it should be priced back on page 1) . . . which suggests it was a pricing error. But if you could find it instore marked at $12.99 they may sell it to you . . .

If the store still has the $12.99 sticker on it will it ring up for that price. Or is the barcode universal and will ring up to whatever the price is on their computers?

If the stores still have the $12.99 sticker on it you should be able to get it for that price.

I've never had a problem getting it honored but I know some people on this board sure have.

I think the barcode is universal but if you act nice enough, the employee could sell it to you with the price on the sticker (unless the manager is there then no). $12.99 was a pricing error for sure. So glad to pick it up while it's cheap. I'm gonna buy Subsistence when it comes out, that's why I don't want to pay mucho dinero for MGS3 now.

Yeah, they just did for me, I recommend heading to your local EB NOW if you want it, you may luck up, they didn't know about it until I went to pay for mine.

I went after work and the downtown store in SF still had all of their copies with the $12.99 sticker. I was tempted to pick it up again and give it to my cousin but I didn't want to get into an argument with the employees; he can always just borrow mine anyway.

Well, I feel really good about my timing on this one then. :) Not only did I score a copy of MGS3 for myself, but I picked up 3 extras since it qualifies for Rhino's 2-for-1 deal. Helped me get rid of 3 other games I had that also qualified, and I ended up w/ $150 store credit @ Rhino. Yay! :)

Being a cheapassgamer means constant vigilance, incredible stealth, and rapid response . . . when the big CC $5 sale broke last summer, I was instore within 3 hours of the first post here!

But this has gotten to be a sickness with me (as my wife would attest).

After I bought mine the other night, the manager pulled all 20 copies and then put them back after it went back to $24.99. Completely stupid.

You have to admit that this probably helped them clear out a lot of stock; my local EB had a ton of the things, and no one was buying at the previous $34.99 pricetag.

found a copy of MGS 3 used at an EB in Santa Rosa, California, still marked 12.99. 2 copies were still marked 12.99, and the guy who rang me up said that even though it was a price mistake, he would give it to me for 12.99. Thanks to the OP!

isn't there a law in California that they (retail stores) have to honor the lower price if the price tag is mislabled or outdated? I think I read it here, posted or stated by someone here a few months ago.

yea I think so. I work in retail and the store I work at will honor price mistakes caused by old signs (big signs/etc), and some shelf tags. problem is sometimes people put things back wherever they want to, so I have to constantly scan the floor to make sure a copy of Halo 2 isn't put on a rack that says 19.99 or something. most stores though say that they have the right to say no to most price mistakes, which I'm not sure about.
