You'll have to call the stores since it's not in stock on the website. It just dropped yesterday. King of Fighters 2000/2001 for PS2 is $2.99 new. There probably aren't too many of these still out there. My store had one, and one other store in my district had one. I picked it up for 2.54 after discount. Ditto for the Xevious NES Classic on GBA that I've been meaning to grab for a while since I saw it on here. Good luck to anyone who wants to find one!

i also have this game already, so ill be sitting this one out, funny thing when i bought xevious

i handed the box to the cashier and said "of this is $2.99 ill take it" he looked at the box and told me it was 19.99, so i said "could you please scan it for me?" he scanned it and got the most bewildered look on his face, and then said he couldnt sell it to me, that it must be a glitch or something, i then said "so im not allowed to purchase your merchandise because YOU cant keep your prices up to date?" needless to say, i got it ^^
 
Rhino alert! :) I picked up a copy intending to keep it, but couldn't resist taking it in when I stopped by Rhino just to see. It actually qualifies. It may be a good game, but turning $3 into $25 is something I can't pass up. Unfortunately, that was the only new copy between all 3 of my local EB's.

wow... awsome, the guy deserved that. I hate when employees don't know what to do so they make up stories of that they should probably not sell me stuff. I usually ask them to talk to the manager which shuts them up most of the time.


this deal is awsome, yet I doubt it will happen in my area since the culcept deal was never (and still isn't) here.

They most likely scanned a used one, that's what the manager told me they go for used when I bought mine yesterday. So either they don't have a new one, or they just scanned a used one to get the price.

When a game is that cheap I'd be paranoid to ask for a price check over the phone. I would think the EB employee may see the price and get that deal for him/herself.

I've glad you could grab one. I didn't think there'd be too many of these out there anymore new. Anyone else get one while you can. These price drops like this usually last less than a week before they go back.
 
i went to eb this morning and didn't coem out with anything. i asked if they could do a search at any other stores, and no stores in their district has it. i might have to check one more store because its in another district tomorrow. the people that find them are damn lucky.
 
Found one at the local EB for a friend.. the funny part is that they LOST the case and manual for it.

He bought it disks only for 2.99 once I told him the moves list were actually in the game itself, but still... losing the case and manual?

It was the display copy, but that's still pretty shitty of them to up and lose something like that. I can only imagine if they did that for a new release game.

Dosen't help the store is entirely disorganized, and they have no less than four sections for Playstation 2 games.

At least the cashier was nice enough to take down my friend's number in case it shows up.
 
Gamestop seems to commonly lose the case and manual. I see game cases for a game that is a generic case with the game name handwritten on a paper slip in the case. For this, they give a whole 10% off. I saw March Madness 2005 for XBox for example, disc only but "new" for $29.99 less the 10% off.
 
Stupid people steal empty cases ALL the time. One guy the other day tried handing me a display box from the shelf and said I forgot to put the game in the box. "I aint got my reciept. You sold it to me you should know." Nevermind the fact that I just changed the price on the box he handed me. I guess this post belongs in the "special customers" thread too.
 
I might have to check this out, even though I'm not a huge fan of fighting games, I need something with multiplayer for when I babysit.
 
whoohoo! I picked up 2 copies when I was on my way home yesterday from a trip -- one was sealed, the other was a shelf copy. I just noticed that the clerk grabbed the discs for KOF: Maxium Impact instead of 2000/2001! (I might have gone back to exchange if it weren't a 3 hour drive back)

Jealous...I'm very jealous.

I keep hoping someone will actually get 2 copies of 2000/2001, so I can try to trade with them...doesn't seem to be happening.

try going to the CC sale on July 3rd... it's going for $10... not too bad.

No it's not. King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Collector's Edition is selling for $10 at the CC sale. But this is KOF2000/2001....and I really want it.

You mentioned you'd be looking for it. On the off chance they do have it, and have more than one, I'd be your bestest friend forever if you could get me a copy. :)

I was planning on picking up 3 copies if there were some available, 1 for me to replace my bad one, one for the guy in three posts above and one for whoever... most likely you... but remember... my luck is bad here.

Yea I got it then too, I usually only play Capcom fighters but I really got into this. I'll try finding a copy or 2 to help anyone in need. CoffeeEdge will get a copy somehow!
 
I already have this one (I snatched it the minute it had dropped in price at GameCrazy to $19.99 since I missed it for $15 at TRU), but I went anyhow to try and get a copy for one of my friends. They didn't have a single one in the store and the guy who worked there said that he hadn't seen one in a long while and that people kept coming in and asking for it.

Going to go try a couple other EBs later, but I highly doubt that I'll find one. Oh well.

I'm more anxious on getting a deal on the 02/03 games since I already have 00/01 and have been really wanting the 02/03 versions. Still no price drop on it yet anywhere. Still 39.99.

My understanding, and from going over the list three times now to narrow it down, only the King of Fighters: Collector's Edition, better known as King of Fighter's: Maximum Impact is the one that is going on sale.

I'll check out two of the EB Games on my way home from class tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a copy.

My hopes aren't high though.
