(dead) New PS2 KoF 2k/2k1 $2.99 @ EB B&M

Ziv

CAGiversary!
You'll have to call the stores since it's not in stock on the website. It just dropped yesterday. King of Fighters 2000/2001 for PS2 is $2.99 new. There probably aren't too many of these still out there. My store had one, and one other store in my district had one. I picked it up for 2.54 after discount. Ditto for the Xevious NES Classic on GBA that I've been meaning to grab for a while since I saw it on here. Good luck to anyone who wants to find one!

I haven't even SEEN a copy of KoF 2002/2003 in a store.
Though I would not only jump on it for $10, I'd even do a little dance.
Heck...Playing 00/01 kinda makes me want to pick up MI. Is it any good?
I'll check out two of the EB Games on my way home from class tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a copy.

My hopes aren't high though.
Which EBs if you don't mind my asking? I've already checked the Eastgate Shopping Center's EB and the one inside the Galleria mall (decided to grab a slice of pizza there since I was in the area).

MI wasn't bad for a 3d translation of a 2d fighter, but overall I must say that the game is pretty meh with an annoying anouncer. I'm still pretty pissed that I bought it for $29.99 without the hat. If I had at least bought it with the hat it probably would have made a little less angry at myself for paying that much since the hat is just bad ass.
I'm more anxious on getting a deal on the 02/03 games since I already have 00/01 and have been really wanting the 02/03 versions. Still no price drop on it yet anywhere. Still 39.99.
Don't know how much mine was, it was a gift. Just do the $5 off coupon or use GGC (if your Best Buy has it). It's worth it.

The problem is just that I've never seen this game at my BB otherwise I probably would have by now.
My understanding, and from going over the list three times now to narrow it down, only the King of Fighters: Collector's Edition, better known as King of Fighter's: Maximum Impact is the one that is going on sale.
I thought that too, because MI actually is a "collector's edition" with extra stuff, but this link on the CC website

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/prod...broadvision.session.new=Yes&BV_UseBVCookie=No

shows "King of Fighters Collectors Edition" to actually be 2002/2003. I will SO be at CC looking for this.

Well their UPC's do match... but that could just be a picture mixup. I'll read my UPC on 02/03 and let you guys know.

I've seen only 2 KOF2002/2003 at around 7 Gamestops/EB's I've been to. Most of them say they have not received it yet, I've seen one Gamestop carry a used one for 34.99. Maybe I should have gotten on that....

If it's a picture mixup, it's a text mixup too. From the CC website:

King of Fighters: Collector’s Edition (PlayStation®2)

I'll be heading to the one close to UNLV first. After that, I'll head to the one on Nellis & Sahara.

Thanks for letting me know about the Henderson locations.. I was about to check those out as a last resort.

Yeah, the UPC on the CC site matches my copy of KOF:MI Collectors' Edition, sadly. So 2002/2003 is not a part of the CC sale as far as I can tell - they put the wrong picture and summary up on the site. It's King of Fighters: Maximum Impact that is a part of the sale. (I refuse to call $10 games a clearance, because I am spoiled now).

That has nothing to do with this thread though, which AFAIK is legit.

Only reason to get KOF: MI is for trade at GR for more money.
The game won't last long if you are playing by yourself.

You should buy the game for XBOX.
Only fighting game fans know the importance of LIVE!

Damn, can't believe I missed out on this one because I really wanted this game. I have the terrible luck of having the nearest EB games getting shut down.

That it isn't important ;)

Thanks OP

I lucked out and found a copy yesterday that was sealed (still was marked 39.99 which I'd think was wrong before it got marked down to 2.99 as I'd think it was at least 19.99 or 29.99 or something at some point and didn't just go from 39.99 -----> 2.99) When I asked about it the one guy said he remembered seeing it afew months ago and checked in the glass case behind the counter to see it was still around :)
