Price raised to $19.99 = dead. You snooze, you loose.

Thanks to member zymase at ByteSizeDeals.com for the PS2 version and ME for the Cube version :)

BTW, get in on this while the getting is good as this might be an error/glitch:

Just order Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and you can pick up Tony Hawk's Underground 2 for PS2, Xbox or GameCube for just five bucks.

Follow these steps:

Choose your version of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland.
Choose your version of Tony Hawk's Underground 2.
Select the "Add Items To Cart" button.

Important notes: Two qualifying products must be in your cart to receive this offer. Savings will be reflected in your cart.

As of now, this isn't the case as the Cube or PS2 versions can be ordered alone for that price.
They take your credit card, but then they also give you a reciept to sign. On the reciept is where the error is. It will say Tony Hawk 4.99, but then the subtotal will be something else.
I'm not sure I even looked at the receipt that I signed (duh!). The "receipt" that I was handed in store to take home showed all zeroes for price

Looks like it's dead, at least online. Are the in-store inventories usually accurate? The website is saying that my local BBs don't have it anymore, but if there's a chance that they do, I may take a quick run over there.

i walked into a best buy yesterday and there were quite a few of them left priced 4.99, i didnt have any problems at all.... guess i was lucky

Well, my first order ended up being unavailable at the store I chose for pickup.

And now, my second order, which was to be shipped to me, has been cancelled.

Why aren't I surprised?

Went to Best Buy this morning and they were ringing up for $19.99, but to my luck they had a placeholder showing them for sale as $4.99. Convinced the manager that the THUG 2 listed as $4.99 was in fact the same game and I got the price 'corrected'. They did take the price off the display though, so sorry to any CAGers headed to the Best Buy off Colorado Blvd today...
deals dead, and I am pretty sure all the ones you will find in store are going to ring up 19.99 now.
Gonna be interesting for me . . . I have pickup paperwork but couldn't get there yesterday . . . will I get the price promised on my "Pickup Notification"? I'll go in about an hour.

You and me both bro . I have my paperwork printed out but I couldn't make it yesterday... I'll know after work today I guess...

I went to best buy this morning and was informed that they do not price match their own website, yet circuit city did it no questions asked. just another example of why i don't shop at bb.

Cool score! . . . got 1 copy for GC at $5 as expected. The clerk was ringing up my 2 copies for $10.49 after tax . . . and I asked if I could apply the $5 McDonalds coupon and she said she didn't know but she'd try. Then we both realized that she was a past student of mine (tech college) and we started chatting about her program (dental hygiene) and my kids.

After she rang up the games, she returned them and then resold them to me at .01 each . . . so, I got a refund of $10.47 LOL! Of course, YMMV. I was only going to apply the coupon to one of the copies.

3 copies of THUG 2 for $5 total.
I actually think the opposite... if you were to order today, it won't ship out until Monday (technically), which is plenty of time for BestBuy.com to notice the error and cancel your order.

However, if you ordered in store pickup, you'll be done and gone within an hour. The employee didn't look at my receipt or anything, just got the item, scanned it through, was a very simple process, no scrutiny involved here.
:) glad i thought the same way as you, because otherwise i wouldt have gotten 2 THUG 2 for less than $11 bucks

Picked up three copies (all taken, sorry guys) of the Cube version this afternoon; they rang up at $19.99 but had a printed tag listing the $4.99 price...

Ordered online yesterday w/ in-store pickup but was being lazy and decided to press my luck & try picking it up today at lunch. Paid off, I picked up the game with no problems.

Even better, I just finished my first session with it and it's actually a lot of fun - a LOT better than the first THUG, that's for sure. The first training area is a recreation of the very first warehouse level in the original Tony Hawk - I think it's worth $5 just for that. :D

Thanks OP!

Oh hell no, those assclowns canceled my order but the $4 in best buy bucks I had can't be redeemed anymore. Those assholes are getting an earful.

They warned you about that in this thread.....and it was an obvious price error(as stated in the OP) read your bestbuybucks...its written clearly, sorry man =(

If Best Buy is going to lie, at least make it believeable. If they are sending out e-mails saying the order is cancelled because they don't have it anymore why does the PS2 version say on the product page: "Shipping: Backordered. Usually ships within 1-2 weeks"
If it was really gone and they didn't plan to re-stock, then it would say sold out. If it comes back in stock within the next week, I'm going to complain. It won't do any good I'm sure but I'll still try

So you speak the truth, oh well, I was double dipping on the bucks anyway cause I already spent them in store last week (with the $10 off red magazine coupon). Guess that's karma for ya.

Edit- BTW, I saw nothing about it in this thread. I didn't feel like reading 4-5 pages of "Thanks OP, ordered 1" when I ordered last night.

How did you get them back from the cashier...?

When I did it, the cashier took the bucks and never gave them back. Luckily I used them online first before using them at the store.

I wrote down their codes before I redeemed them.

I had a test today that I had to study for last night, I wasn't on CAG very long and I didn't feel like spending my little bit of free time reading, (like I said) "Thanks OP, ordered 1".

Damn, I swear I had copies of the penny guide for this game (from like Jan.) . . . must have traded them away for guides I really wanted :)

BTW, as this thread trickles out . . . staring at my penny copies of the game (after $5 off coupon) I was just remembering that last fall at Target (picking up rainchecks?) I saw a mom buy this game with her kid. For $50! I thought, "so people do actually pay $50 for games . . ."

I just got back from BB. They still had five copies (GC) sitting there on the shelf. I grabbed one, and while I was looking at the box, someone grabbed all of the remaining copies.

Good timing I guess...I was going to grab a few copies for trades, but oh well.

well i ordered it as soon as the OP posted it. annnnd i havent gotten a cancellation email or anything... but i havent even gotten a "your item has shipped" email either. blaaah

I ordered one of each. One for pickup and the other for delivery. I went and got the one instore (GC) and the tag on the rack said 4.99. I haven't gotten a cancellation email yet, and I also did this within a couple of hours of the OP. Thanks OP!

My online order was cancelled too. I went to the store to pick up my copy and apparently it had been "returned" and my credit card was never charged. She said I could still buy it but it rang up at $19.99. I showed the girl the reserve slip that was attached to the game said $4.99 and she quickly changed the price and I left happy. I picked up the batman movie too so it was a good trip.

I'm gonna go try something like that tonight, I'm pised that my order was cancelled

Well, the hits just keep on coming. I checked my bank statement online and as of right now I'm still being charged for my order that got cancelled. Granted it is only $3.19 but still its the principle of the matter.

Check your order status on BB's website and it will tell you if it has shipped or not. The website showed that my order was shipped 2 days before I got any confirmation email.

Yeah I was thinknig that they would send an email saying it's shipped so I checked right now. It's going to be here tomorrow, or should be.

But Best Buy is a shit place, never bring your car there, so thats nothing new.

Actually I just realized that they did ship mine out. The one they cancelled was the store one, which is probably why I had problems. So if anybody wants a copy, let me know.

edit: this is for the gamecube by the way.

edit 2: game on hold
