WOW!
That looks

en Sweet!
I'm so going to be there opening night!
And Ayane HAS purple hair!!!!!!!
I was looking at who was the Director and writers for the moive.
The Director is Corey Yuen he was the Fighting and martial arts director on Transporter 1 & 2, X-Men, Kiss of the Dragon, The One, and Lethal Weapon 4, just to name a few. and he has Directed about 36 movies. Thats a good start.
What scares the shit out of me right now is the writers:
Adam Gross & Seth Gross, best known work Bill Nye, the Science Guy.... ugh!
J.F. Lawton He did Pretty Woman, Blankman, Under Siege 1, 2 & 3, and the TV series V.I.P... ugh again.
and last Granz Henman who has done nothing that I have heard of.. not a good sign.
I've Watched it a few times, only chracter that kind of bugs me right now is Kasumi. Everyone else seems like a good match. Tina is a pretty good fit. Leon looks like his videogame counterpart. Looks like Gen-Fu is in it even thou he wasn't listed in the cast. Also looks like Kokoro from DoA4 is in as well, unless that was Kasumi. it was hard to tell from the angles. And I think I saw Zach.
Kasumi and Ayane's outfits are really acurate. I'm really glad they didn't try to create some new look for them all.
The trailer reminds me alot of the first Mortal Kombat movie with a bit of Kill Bill and (sadly) Charlie's Angles mixed in.
the only spots that really scream Charlie’s Angels was;
-The stupid intro were there talking about guys and they are focusing on Kasumi, Helena and Christien. I have to say now that I re-look at it again I'm kind of disappointed on how they portraid Helena.
-The Xtream Beach Volleyball references, I think they could have done without that.
-And the explosion where Kasumi, Helena and Christien are jumping of a balcony.
The intro is what does the most damage in making people think its going to be a Charlie’s Angels clone.
Having the girls team up was nessary since it would be harder for them to do a movie where your moving around from character to character. In Mortal Kombat the story mainly focused around Liu Kang with a really small side story for Sonya and next to nothing for Johnny Cage. Unless they wanted to focuses the whole movie just around Kasumi I think it was needed to have them all team up to fight a common enemy. This is going to always be a major problem with doing movies based on Fighting games there are just to many characters to use. The only other option I could see that could be taken would be to do a SinCity type movie where you break the movie up into 3 or move mini movies.
The whole topless fight scene at the end really, kind of boardlines Charlie’s Angels but does look like something Christien would do. If you were to cut out the clip from the beginning I think alot less people would see a Charlie’s Angels connection.
As for the Kill Bill connection, that would only be the 5 Girls vs 300 Ninjas scene in the beginning. But really its a fighting movie, you need lots of fighting.
It should also be noted that the whole intro part more then likely was shot only for the teaser/trailer and won't even be in the movie.
This is still just a teaser, and it looks like not even a teaser that was ment to be aired, someone must have snaged it from one of the online teaser test surveys. So they might not even use this teaser and might come out with a better one.
Music kind of bugged me as well, But whatcha going to do, today's music sucks. Lets hope they keep the pop crap to a minimum in the movie.
None the less still looks really good to me. I can't wait to see it.
