Dead Pixel Again???

CAGiversary!
Ok, so i just got my DS back after sending it in for a repair the first time. The first DS i got had a stuck green pixel almost in the middle of the screen. Now i got a new one back from them and guess what? A stuck red pixel on the bottom left of the screen. i know its not much but it bugs the hell out of me. should i send it back again and not have it for a couple of weeks or what? what would you guys do? And no just buy a psp becasue i am, i want both.

Definately send it back. You have to think of the long term. If you want, you can hold off for a while since the DS comes with a one year warrantee. Also, you are going to want a perfect system when games like Metroid and Castlevania are realeased.

not as bad as mine.

My original DS had a dead pixel, so I sent it to Nintendo. The one they sent me had a faded screen (super dark). Sent it back. Got another system with even worse faded screen. Sent it back. Then they sent me one after I requested they inspected it and now it's in perfect condition. :D Even with all the mess-ups that nintendo did with my DSs I can happily say that Nintendo has THE best customer service. They actually treated me like they cared. I even had an hour long conversation with some chick that worked there...

I would be pissed off if they sent me a messed up DS back. Do like RelentlessRolento and have them inspect the next DS before sending it to you.

Nintendo repairs are done through a third party. My SP repair was sent to United Radio Service. After reading a few more repair horror stories here, USR quality control must be subpar. My SP was sent back to me "Cleaned, tested, and inspected". I tested the SP myself and the LCD screen was faulty (horizontal lines during gameplay). Now I have to send it in again and hope for the best.

It actually is this way: If you get your system replaced, it's done in-house at Nintendo (all the messed up ones i got were from them... weird). If you get your system repaired, then it goes off to United Radio Service where they replace your system, but the system that is replacing yours is inspected... but knowing big companies that's not always a guarantee.

Nintendo does have a damn good custo service team... and an hour long conversation huh? bored or just tryin to get her number?

Dead pixels aside, has anyone noticed that the DS dies way under ten hours? Like more in the area of five to seven. Also, the backlight gets dimmer during single-cart multi-player games.

I have a teeny white dead pixel on the touch screen which is not really noticeable while playing; only when the screen goes all black. However, I would never send it back to Nintendo for repairs unless something worse happens to it. My Touch screen is crystal clear, scratchless, and very smooth and responsive. And my top screen has no dead pixels or other blemishes (which is more important than the touch screen when you think about it - after all, most of the time you are using the Stylus on the bottom and don't notice dead pixels).

I consider myself very blessed, especially after reading all the horror stories of defective DSes. Best of all, I know I'll always have my warrenty to fall back on, up until Feb. 2006 - Thank God for Nintendo's awesome customer support.

 i guess you could say both

one other thing that's nice about the customer service: The Hold music is an orcestral score of the entire Super Mario Bros soundtrack. Pretty nice if you ask me.
