(DEAD-READ) Donkey Konga (GC) $27 preorder after coupon at MediaPlay.com

I ordered it too. I played the game at the display at EB in rocafella yesterday and, well needless to say I want it. Been looking for videogames that my girlfriend can get into and this just might be it, finally something to pull her away from Puzzle Bobble.

Anyone know when the game comes out??

How can this question get asked so many times (more than once in this thread but all over this forum)? Are there really that many places that screw you by charging ahead of time without disclosing it? I pre-order a lot of stuff, and I can count on one hand how many times this has happened without it being painfully obvious on the merchant site.

If it happens even once, then that right there is enough for me to worry about it. Coupled with the fact, that we're not still 100% certain as to what's included in the purchase, well then, I don't fault anybody for asking questions.
 
Has anyone ordered 2 just cause getting the 2nd set of drums alone is the same price? I'm sure you could figure out a way to sell the game disc.

On a side note, I just read this entire thread and noticed that no one has brought up a discrepancy on the release date. One of my Local EB's has this game releasing on 9/8 instead of 9/27. What gives?

Hey guys, do you think if I order it off Samgoody I will get the same deal (game and conga?) I have account at there and dont feel like creating another one.. just curious.
 
I dunno why, but I got the deal, even though some people didn't get through.

In any case, this will be a blast...I told my friend to get this, and are goin back to school on Sat, so we'll be making some noise on September 27.

It's the 27th, even EB's website has it listed as going out then. Your local EB probably just needs to update their release chart. My GS is notorious for never updating thiers when a release date changes.
 
HUGE UPDATE:

I've been in touch with Matt McClure (the SamGoody.com guy) and I just received an email from him that states that after MORE research, despite the fact that SamGoody.com didn't sell accessories in the past, this is just for the BONGOS.

I repeat, THIS IS JUST FOR THE BONGOS.

Again, seeing how many twists and turns this story has taken, I would still take any new twists with a grain of salt, but his email to me sounded very urgent and he went out of his way to impress upon me the fact that I should tell people this is just for the bongos. Take from this what you will. I'm just relaying the info.

Bah...I got charged sales tax and it ended up as like $31.

Also It's showing up as backoredered. Did it say that for everyone when they checked out? I figure maybe because it's a pre-order...

Well, I guess that revelation from Mr. McClure just solved my dilemma for me. :whistle2:/ Still, I wish it had been for both the game and the bongos.
 
Why does it state bongos/game in the confirmation then?

Also seeing as how some stores have taken to trying to sell bongos for $35. $30 shipped isn't too bad of a deal for the bongos if you are sure you'll be getting the game.

Yeah, I'm not trying to pull a joke or anything. He said that they are in the process of changing the listing on the website now. Basically it was a deal where everyone was telling him different things. He feels they've gotten to the bottom of it now and it is, in fact, just for the BONGOS. He also said if you wish to cancel, you sent them an email with the confirmation number included in the subject line.

Well if it's true, and they don't make good on the people who ordered already under the different listing, looks like yet another company I won't be ordering from in the future.

Not only that, but isn't that illegal? I'm not canceling my order unless i get an email confirmation saying that they were wrong. They can't just change a listing after people have ordered it, and not tell anybody, right?
 
Someone should change the topic title. I almost ordered it despite the fact that i've planned on getting Taiko Drum Master instead.
 
I find it kind of strange that they would be selling the bongos for pre-order on the site and not the game. I'm going to wait a few days and see what happens (if they send out an e-mail or not) before I cancel.
 
That is why I have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. I have a PDF file of my WEBPAGE confirmation, hence proof that they are supposed to ship me the game AND bongos. Technology is such a wonderful thing.

Technically you could call it bait'n'switch advertising I suppose, but I don't realy know what the law is like for that pretaining to online stores. Also, seeing as how you haven't really purchased the product, they could probably get away with it even though it's not good business or good for PR.

so is FYE also listing this at 30 bucks for the game? anyone who ordered from there might want to check and see if it's for the drums only

The page may have been changed, but in the cart it still says Bongos / Game.. shrug....
 
It is likey they will cancle all the orders instead of just shipping the drum or game.
 
Well, they obviously won't ship JUST the game. Now, bongos only maybe, but I got my order in and I think I'll just hold out for a little longer for some solid evidence.

Worst case scenario....I gotta return it....big whoop!

I have no respect for Sam Goody/ Musicland's websites.

This is the second time this year they have made a major mistake when listing a GC game. They are slow to react and then fail to honor the mistake.

This one is worse because it was found days ago, even the CSR had no clue what was going on, and even now no one is sure.

What a joke

File->Print and select Adobe PDF as your Printer. It might say Acrobat Distiller on older versions of Acrobat. If you don't see either of those options as a selectable printer, then you don't have the full version of Acrobat.

What I fault is that the question was asked and answered earlier in the post. I could understand if this were some 100 pg post and somebody read the first page and the last few, but this is only 8 pages. Just skim it if reading is so hard for you. :roll:
 
Argh. I'm gonna hold out hope for a little while longer. In the mean time, I'm off to the mall to play the demo some more.
