Dead Rising General Game/Demo Discussion Thread #2

Did anyone else get the Indoorsman (spend 24 hours outdoors) achievement glitch? As soon as I started the game up, it said I had unlocked Indoorsman, which is weird becuase I haven't stepped outside yet.

Hey I just finished the game and have a question. Is there someway to unlock 5 and 7 day modes or do you just play the 72 hour mode and not go to the the helipad at the third day? I've been looking online and haven't seem to find anything. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if anyone else has been keeping up with the lawsuit between Capcom and the MKR Group over copyright infringement but I was reading an older news article about it today when I came to this...

Capcom's "Dead Rising" game was released in August 2006 for Microsoft Corp's XBox 360 and had shipped more than a million units by the end of 2006. The title is no longer being produced, Kramer said.

Now is this just because the game has run it is cycle? Or is this just some pre-emptive move by Capcom to avoid a bigger settlement if the lawsuit doesn't go their way?

no...many were hoping for an announcement at E3. IMO, capcom only really announces 2 games at a time...bionic commando and resident evil 5 are what they are currently working on that will come out the soonest.
Markman said in the GGT that a sequel is happening.
I think something was blurbed in EGM's quarterman a while back about DR2. IIRC, it's not the same team handling the game.
Has there been any word on a sequel?
to sum it up, nothing has officially come from capcom about a sequel...but I have to believe they are working on it, at least in a limited capacity.

For future reference you can click "Thread Tools" then "Subscribe to this thread" to subscribe instead of posting and bumping it for just that.

And yes I know I'm bumping the thread to say that.

Sweet, thanks PMF! I didn't know about all these new features.

On an added note, in Dead Rising (I haven't seen it mentioned), the first time exiting the air ducts from the security room onto the wherehouse rooftop, taking the freight elevator down initiates case 1; whereas if you entered from the side, the queen bee cinematics play, and case 1 is bypassed permanently.

At this point, I believe the designers lets the player choose whether to play in free roam or in missions.

Something else I've noticed, each time you save and end, then come back later to continue adds one-hour in game time automatically (means you lose one hour/5 mins real time).
