Really wish this game allowed multiple saves. After I finished case 2-2 I didn't go for the medicine right away. Since there was no timer as previous missions/scopes I just ran around for awhile. Once I finally grab the medicine the other cases were expired and I was screwed.

So after I finish I will have to play through again for the cases. Damn it... I know I wasn't the only one to do this....
However i was able to get up to lvl 49. I think im gonna take a break as like Ronnie said, you do get motion sickness from watching it (or at least it really kicks in once you stop playing).
yeah when you stop playing it makes you feel horrible.

i just hit lvl 50 and got all the kills i need w/27 or so hours left. i also got the karate champ one. i still need that transmissionary achievement where you answer all the calls.

btw to get overtime mode, you need to get the A ending. finish all cases and be at the helipad at noon.

I can't believe that the guys in the jeep just come right back after you kill them. I was about to finish an escort but I had to cross the park and got killed in the process (since I had to carry her). I did get nearly a thousand kills by just driving around for a few minutes earlier, so I guess I'll try to get the jeep again during the daytime so that I can just kill zombies for awhile.

Definitely not! I did the same exact thing, but ended up being kind of happy about it as I was actually thinking of starting over anyway to level up more and I mistakenly skipped over the cut scene with the slick coat guys on my way back anyway.

Anyway, I've started over and have been just working on leveling up by taking pictures of and saving the old couple, kicking the head into alignment into the toy store, and then heading off into the parking garage and going from truck to truck while running over zombies by the thousands and racking up PP.

very repetitive, but somehow running through those crowds of the undead in the parking garage just doesn't seem to get old:D

Edit: Plus clearing out the meat packing room in the parking garage with all the available items in there is some of the most fun I've had with the game yet!

Ok, another SAVE question.

Let's say I save at the gym.....then I play a little more, rack up 1,000 kills then I die WITHOUT saving. Now, my options are:

-LOAD
-SAVE AND QUIT

If I choose save and quit will that save my stats and I can start at the GYM next time I load or does it start me over from the beginning?

"Save and quit" starts the game over with your stats saved at what they were when you died.

"Load" loads the last save you made.

Question for anyone who's beaten the game (or at least gotten pretty far)

In the mission where you have to collect all the bombs, what's the strategy?

Is it to collect them all on motorcycle and avoid Carlito? (which is extremely hard)
The above, but on foot?
Kill Carlito first then collect?

Because I can get about two bombs then Carlito starts putting the smackdown on me, and my motorcycle is destroyed.

Thanks!

what i did was bring a few skateboards with me for after the car/motorcycle breaks down. or make some speed juice [ or whatever it's called ].

when you're running from carlito and see headlights approaching, dodge to the left/right to avoid getting run over.

it only took me 2 tries to beat it [ didn't have a skateboard the first time. ]

Once Carlito appeared, I just made my way to the bombs through the mall instead of the tunnel. Didn't even try to fight him and beat it on the first try!

I took care of the bad guy first, only took a few shells with my shotgun. Best strategy is to go into one of the open doors and stand there. He'll try to ram you, but obviously cant reach you, and he's in direct line for a series of headshots.

He may drive away after getting down a certain amount, if he does, get the next bomb, then duck & cover cuz he's coming back for ya.

After he's out of the way its pretty smooth sailing for the other bombs (assuming you have a means for getting through the waves of zombies)

The bombs were easy actually, but I guess soem people would have some problems...

people forget they can use the zombie waling ability too, which is near invinciable when used at the right time.

Add me to the list of people who screwed up on 2-3 and basically had to start over. Thing is, I'm having way more fun now that I don't have to worry about missions and time limits. Far more entertaining to ust explore the mall and run Zombies down. Plus I was still able to do a few side missions & I even faced a few bosses! Right now I'm just collecting acheivments and lvling up. When I max out my lvl I might retry story mode, but it depends on whether wandering about aimlessly slaughtering zombies gets old or not.

BTW Destroying the convict's truck isn't a sure fire way of making them dissapear. As I've destroyed their vehicle thrice and twice have they since respawned. Also, I DREs when changing clothes ALOT :bomb:

Getting a the genocide achievement is a PITA. 38,000 zombies down. Does anyone know if I can just save and quit and get the buster? Or do I have to wait until the game reaches the end?

You earn the achievement as soon as it happens but the related award (the buster in this case) isn't given out until you complete the 72 hours.

for the bomb mission...
I just planned a route where I would get 3 of the bombs then the 4th one would be the one by the new truck so I could get a fresh new vehicle and just out run carlito the whole time.
I have like 6 survivors following me but they are pissing me off. Is there a way to block them in a room or make them stay for longer than a minute? If not then I am going to kill them all myself.
you can hold the R trigger and aim at the spot you want them to stand at and hit the Y button

Somebody said you can take them to the rooftop and make them stand near the vent and they won't get injured or anything. Haven't tried it myself though. Then again if you get that far you'd probably just want to drop them off there unless you were going for the 'escort 8 people/women at once' achievement.

i beat the movieland boss and i have to escort 4 people but there are to many zombies and they all died cant i take them 1 by 1?
you can hold the R trigger and aim at the spot you want them to stand at and hit the Y button
I know how to do that but they will only stay put for a short while and after any cutscene they get fucking stupid and run right into all the zombies. I will stick them in a bathroom and activate this cutscene to get another survivor and when I look back they are running around like dumbasses.
Im at lvl 41. Though unfortunately im only at 9,000 zombies. I really dont trust that sports car in the tunnels so im stuck with just driving around the main park area (which nets a decent amount of kills, it just gets boring). For some reason it seems the convicts only show up at certain times for me, otherwise i'd always use their jeep (i keep a sniper rifle and a shotgun on me at all times, makes it really easy to take them out, especially when they get stuck off in the distance). Im about to stock up on OJ & mini chainsaws and raise some hell in the tunnels, lets just hope it goes well.

As for beating the boss of Overtime. After about 9 tries, i figured out a decent method. Stand on the bottom part of the tank (near the edge) and do a jump kick everytime Brock jumps down onto it. He'll either block, or the second before your kick connects, he'll "charge up" leaving him wide open. It takes a bit, but its a good method (if he grabs you, just move your stick left & right as fast as you can, if your close enough to the edge it'll knock him into the zombies, and when he jumps back up, kick him right back into them).
Double lariat kicks his arse so fast its crazy and too easy...just use it and stay on the bottom part of the tank and when he drops down hit him with the double larait only takes like 5 times...a little too easy
i beat the movieland boss and i have to escort 4 people but there are to many zombies and they all died cant i take them 1 by 1?
No, cause no matter where they are, survivors will always lose energy (as if being attacked) no matter where you put them if you go to another section of the mall.

The way I did it for the theater people was to give them guns (you can only give weapons to a certain survivors) and star sending them to store entrances that are not too crowded with Zombies. They will stay there in a bunch and the people with weapons will protect them. Keep moving while they are in place and make a path for them. Keep doing this, choosing places and paths where there are only a few zombies. If you reach a swarm of zombies take them out with a wasp.
That's actually a pretty good idea faustus. I'll have to use that when I go for 50 survivors.
Yeah, but the drawback is that it does take some time. It works for larger groups IMO.

I think that's the last achievement I am gonna go for. I ignored the story from after the point where the Isabela/motorcycle thing happens and managed to get 36 survivors. I figure next time I will not follow the storyline at the beginnning and just hunt for survivors.
Also, does anyone know where survivors 21, 37, 38, 39, and 76 are? They are the only ones in need to complete my notebook.

Thanks for all the help on the bombs, I finally beat it.

(Just got the first 3 with the motorcycle, then shot at Carlito till he drove away and quickly got the last two and narrowly avoided him.)

Now I'm on that butcher mission though, that's pretty fucking hard too. (or at least annoying because I didn't save close enough to it, and I don't have enough time to defeat the dudes in the gun shop and get a sniper or shotgun)

Yeah, that's extremely lame. My eyes finally kind of just adjusted to it, but it still sucks.

Right now I'm going for more achievements; specifically trying to save all the survivors, but there are a few who are really starting to piss me off. Like the survivor Kindell, who should be in the North Plaza sometime after you meet with Isabella. Two games now, doing all cases, saving everyone else, he never shows up. :whistle2:s

Okay since I blew the cases because of time I finished today with Ending B. Afterwards I saved and found there was no way to continue on. Pissed me off since I had about 25,000 zombie kills. Anyway I am assuming to go for the 5 day survivor etc you have to skip saving and not head to the helipad?

I went ahead and started a New 3 day mission with my old stats. Even with a beefed up character I still don't see how you have enough time for every scoop missions/survivors and the cases. Anyone having any luck hitting everything or are you missing one here and there?

One other trivial item I noticed. Now that I am going through the game a second time I do not see my ranking changing on the leaderboards. It still shows 918,000 PP instead of the roughly 1,400,000 I am at now.

Have to admit it has more replay value then I thought it would. However after I finish the second time through to solve the cases and get the true ending I don't see myself playing it much. Some sort of online Co Op would have made the game something worth keeping around long term.

To do 5 day survivor you have to play it on infinity mode. In order to unlock that you have to beat overtime mode. In order to unlock overtime mode you have to get ending A in the 3 day mode.

I really want to play this game some more right now, but then again I don't. I'm just not looking forward to the bomb disposal mission (which I'm on right now).

I knew there was something to the 5 day survivor, but I didn't realize you had to jump through that many hoops. Props to anyone who has been able to spend that much time with the game or is planning to. Well now I know I will be ready to move on after getting Ending A and start waiting for Enchanted Arms to hit in 2 weeks...
don't forget that later on there's a model you can save from the cultists who has a request fro frank. Basiclly she starts posing for him and you have to take pictures, which are something you should keep ;)
I saved the chick you're talking about but she didnt behave any differently than anyone else

If you're talking about Cheryl the model, Otis will give you a call asking you to come to the security room because she has something to ask you. Then she will do her thing...

I have every ending but B (when you dont get all the bombs)....i think im done with this game....anyone know where the camera guy goes after you finish his first mission? Or how to finish his second mission?...I just want him to turn pycho so i can kill his dumb ass...plus I just need to wrap up the moves to get lvl 50....the wrestling book and survivor book are key...they are in the empty store room next to crislips after you beat the hatchet man (tell me your rank and name soilder..lol) anyway the survivor book makes all foods twice as potent for energy and the wrestling book makes all melee moves jacked up...both books rock if you wanna throw down for hand to hand on bitches

So I'm going through the latest EGM #207 November and on the Dead Rising review shows a picture with Frank in a full Megaman Zero outfit. Where can this be found? I searched this thread and GameFaqs and couldnt find anyting on it. Thanks in advance.

you find peices of it in different places I think. But the blasters only shoot tennis balls unless you get the zombie genocide achievment or something and then they shoot real lasers and are very potent.

How does that work, can you wear certain pieces at a time?

The helmet is located in the movie theater gift shop. The boots/tights you have to unlock with achievements.

The achievements are Unbreakable (get true ending without being knocked out) and Punisher (defeat all 10 psychopaths).

Not quite sure what they mean by being "knocked out". My only guess could be getting "killed" by the special ops.

Punisher is easy if you can take decent pictures, i didnt have the patience for the photographer guy so i only got 9/10 of the psychos >

Once you get the achievement you gotta finish the game and get an ending, otherwise you won't get it.
And yea, the Real Mega Blaster is awesome. Takes out the first few bosses in 1-3 hits.
the mega buster wasn't as awesome as i thought it would be. it's just like having a super strong handgun w/300 bullets. i was thinking that the balls of energy would plow through a crowd of zombies, but they don't {=[
