Dead Space 2 PS3 Discussion - Out Now!
sucks you cant do a game + on hardcore. i only need 4 more trophies before i get a platinum but after trying hardcore once and dying after i got to the 5 or 6th chapter i dunno if its worth the headache to bother.
It definitely isn't. It's one of those things where, it would be absurd of them NOT to offer a Trophy for complete it on hardcore mode, but at the same time, I'm annoyed that in order to Platinum the game... you have to finish it on hardcore mode. I'd rather they had 20 multiplayer-only Trophies than play on Hardcore.
Okay question time guys

I bought DS2 the day it came out, but its still sitting on my shelf in its shrink wrap as I wanted to play through DS again before I played it.

Question is, is it worth it to open it and play it and extraction, or should I wait for a price drop or used price?

I usually don't like to buy more then 1 full price game in a month, and i had already bought LBP2, and will have bought KZ3 this month.
ill be looking to sell mine soon and i have extraction on the disc. online code is unused as well.

now thats just crazy talk.

I'm on a second playthrough and I'm trying to get the "Elevator Action" Trophy, but it's proving to be incredibly difficult. Any pointers?

Go in with about 15~ Detonator mines and just fire the Detonator directly at the tripods; one shot will knock one off. Doesn't even need to be upgraded, though you might need to stasis a few towards the middle when there are 2-3 of them on the elevator at once.

you need 21 detonators (theres 20 tripods)

edit: also, dont let the detonator set with have the blue ,lines come out, just smack them with the unset mine.

Screw the detonators.. Best fastest and easiest way is force gun.. stay right in the center .. there's even a lil circle on the floor that basically gives you a hint to stay within it. They won't reach you unless you let them come in and through the windows.. but just rotate in a circle .. force gun once or twice and blows them off.. one hit dead center on them and if an arm is holdin on just aim straight at it and BOOM.. done

I left one the first playthrough on Zealot also.. just finished my second playthrough I did on easy to knockout all trophies. So now I'm on hardcore playthrough to get my platinum.. last one I need
platted this game today. if dead space 3 has a hardcore mode trophy, i wont be doin it. shit was frustrating and nerve racking.
haha you're telling me bro.. I made it to level 3 and I was passing a save point and had a gut feeling to make my first save.. went out killed everything in sight and one of those golden glob carrying bastards hit me from behind out of nowhere and I couldn't believe it haha I was looking at my mutilated body parts .. needless to say I quit haha was soooo pissed I'll do it again but man I was HOT!!!

What levels did you make your saves on

i saved at 6, 9 and 13.

after 4 failed attempts at trying to make it to chapter 6 without saving, i caved and bought the supernova dlc suit. man, best $5 i ever fucking spent. hahahahaha

Weird; in my playthroughs the Force Gun schematic didn't come until right after the elevator sequence. But yeah, if it's available, I'd use it over the Detonator.

node glitch?
node glitch?
theres a place near the end of the game where theres one of those rooms you unlock with a node. you go in there and then to the savwe point save and reload that save and go back to the room and you will find one of 3 things( 2 nodes and a ruby cirtuit, 1 node, 3000 credits). search it on youtube.

node glitch doesnt work on hardcore.

i bought the dlc supernova suit. 15% armor with 15 inventory slots. also gives you 15% more health from med packs. it also gives you the detonator which you can use for infinite money although it takes so long it really isnt worth the trouble.

quick question to those that bought the le.. for the online access code, is that code and the zealot suit/gun code one in the same, or is there an online access code tucked away with the instruction book? (havent opened the game yet)

online access code is to play multiplayer . if you dont have the code than you have to pay $10 from marketplace. i'm selling my unused code
for $5

This game is a GOTY on my list

I know what an online access code is.. I don't know why you're telling me what it is. I was asking if the LE version had the code on the back of the instruction book as well as the gun/suit code or if it was just on the included armor/gun DLC with the CE, since it says "gives you access to the armor and gun, as well as online access to Dead Space 2".

I have the LE edition and you're online pass code unlocks the suit and gun, there's no code in or on the instruction booklet

Which suit and gun does it unlock? I read that only collectors edition comes with Zealot Suit and Force gun

Yea I bought the collector's edition

Combat in the game is extremely frustrating when you have two or more enemies attacking/running/tackling you, especially when the game is dark as fuck and I can't see anything. Uggh. Not fun.

I finished hardcore mode and got my plat. I didn't buy any dlc. I have to say, it was a breeze for me and very fun. I originally planned to do an all PC run as an homage to the original, but I decided to try something different. I used the SR as my main and the ripper as crowd control (leapers/pack mainly, since all others just got demolished by my SR).

Are you playing on an SDTV or is your brightness turned down too low? I didn't find it too dark at all other than the spots where its suppose to be and your suppose to aim to use your light.

As for combat don't forget you can use stasis to freeze them and some weapons are better than others at dealing with large groups. I just finished my first play through using the Pulse Rifle (machine gun + grenade launcher ftw) and Force Gun (AoE shotgun for dealing with large amounts of little ones) and I didn't have any trouble other than:

the unkillable guy at the end that kept chasing me. He's a pain when all I wanted to do was search around for every little bit of loot lol!

I'm really digging how they tied together Dead Space 1, Extraction and the iPad game. There were even some nice nods to the movies as well, even if they aren't the greatest. If your into the Dead Space lore I'd give them a rent at least. Now I just need to check out the book.

Hi! Could someone tell me which languages are available to install? I bought it on Amazon.

Thank youuu!

I liked the game, though there were some things i did not like.
For one the regenerating dude was not that of a problem compared to the first game.
And what was the eye poke machine for? This is the cruelest moment in the entire game and i am still not sure what for.
Overall the game was entertaining, but this 2nth game does not make me go back again. I played the 1st 4 times, this not so much. Don't know why.
