Dead Space For $5 After 1,000 Likes (PS3 and XBOX)

This could turn out to being a very slick deal. THIS DEAL IS NOT LIVE YET.

EA Flash deals have been a big hit on slickdeals but this one will take some work to become live.

Instructions:

1) Go here: http://www.facebook.com/eaflashdeals
2) You have to "Like" EA Flash Deals (to be able to "Like" there videos)
3) Vote ("Like" either or both videos titled "Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2....". You have to "Like" them on facebook NOT youtube)
4) First video to recieve 1,000 likes will activate the EA Flash deal for 75% off.

The videos are really funny. I personally like the black lady's video because she "medium disapproves".

I'd pay twice as much plus shipping to NOT have a Steam infested copy. Anything>Steam.

I don't know why I got all excited about this. I misread it as DS2, oops. I kept my copy of the first one even after the plat trophy so I don't need another. This was a surprise from EA. I'm glad they're not as bad as Activision anymore. Guess the plan is back to checking Kmart next week.

I seriously don't think it was Steam you installed before, as you stated in the previous thread. Are you sure you weren't surfing porn when Steam supposedly crashed your computer?


Anyways, I bought the digital version on an impulse but when I saw that Steam had it for just a little more I asked EA for a refund. They actually gave it to me!
 
Porn has never been on this PC. You don't have to believe that but it's true. Steam and HL2 were the only things introduced on that day and through the duration of the problem. Luckily HL2 was the only thing it ruined too. Anyone liking that 'program' is wrong. But anyway it's not a Steam topic, the point was I misread the topic title thinking it was for the new game. My bad.
 
I was pretty dumbfounded by yesterday's deal, but then again this is EA we are talking about. Hopefully they will redeem themselves, but I really don't expect them to.

Also, LottaGames is such an obvious troll. Everyone just set him to ignore and move on. If we stop responding to his BS he'll eventually just go bug some other forums.

Give it a break. Say what you want but Steam sucks and you only use the troll card because you don't have proof otherwise. It's not trolling if I'm right. This deal has nothing to do with that trash and I'm not sure why it came up. It was one sentence, go whine somewhere else.

It's definitely not EA's fault lol. Their 50% off sale was awesome, CS gave out $20 codes left and right so people basically got games for free. The free shipping applied for the duration of that promo which was why people tried to get the videos over 1,000 likes before 7 PM. It was pretty obvious that it would be $5+shipping before they even announced it. I told my friends to order the $9.99 copy during the promo and cancel later if EA for some reason extended the free shipping, it's not like you lose anything.

The funny thing is I just happened to visit CAG earlier today right as the deal went live and I snagged one. Lucky me.

Oh I didn't know they had to make it up to the whole world. I mean they didn't just have a 50% off sale with free shipping. And it's not like they are planning to have flash deals like this often. So they should cater to everyone.

Given the scope the initial EA Flash Deal and their reply to disappointed Facebook subscribers, which assured them that they would make it up to them, I can see how people would think of it as a flop. Then again, just because I can empathize doesn't mean I think poorly of EA's storefront. Their 50% sale was pretty awesome.
 
So here is the synopses.

1. EA asked for 1000 people to like a video so they get a deal on Dead Space.
2. EA was running a deal earlier in the day that was better and offered to everyone, but their offering of a Dead Space deal made it look better so people waited. This deal was in fact almost $2 worse.
3. EA offered that deal to 10% of the people that tried to make that deal happen, and less if you count the fact that the XBOX version wasn't even in stock for the sale.
4. EA offered to make it up to everyone, so EA offered a deal only 5% of the initial 1000 could take advantage of.
5. The new deal wasn't about Dead Space, something the initial 1000 cared about enough to like a video for them.

I like to think of these flash deals as many will enter few will win. The reason they are going to be doing/ can afford to be doing these consistently is that only select people win each time. And it's not like they don't tell you when the codes will be released, nor is it like the codes are all used up within a couple of minutes. The NBA Jam code was up for at least a good 20 minutes.

As for the Dead Space deal you have to share the blame yourself. EA has ridiculous shipping and has had it for a while. They were running free shipping for the duration of the promo and there was a chance it might not hit 1000 likes until after the end of the promo. What was stopping you from ordering Dead Space for 50% off and then canceling it if they extended the free shipping? Nothing.

I had a mess-up with my order and my birthday coupon didn't apply correctly. I called CS and they were more than helpful in righting it and gave me a bunch of extra coupon codes to apologize. Plenty of CAGers got free $20 codes just given to them during the 50% off sale. EA was practically giving away games.
