(DEAD) Tales of the Abyss $24.94 After CAG16+Edge

good luck on it being a quality item, I searched more the 10 stores just to find one mint with artwork and a manual. its proabably just disc only but worth a try for the price.

Of the Tales games I've played (Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia) this is the best in the series. The characters are story are better than the others, in my opinion, and that's what matters in an RPG. The combat isn't quite as good as Vesperia though.

I picked this up from gamestop awhile back, and it came with original art and manual. The case had a few stickers on it though, but it wasn't too hard to get them off. Disc looks great as well.

That sucks- would have been a great buy at that price. Hopefully they will have more soon. On another note, ICO is back in stock but since its $7.00 higher than it was 2 months ago- I'm gonna wait.

I have one :D

Also this is a great price for the game. It is very fun and in my eyes one of the best in the whole series.
Yea I know I'm crossing my fingers that it is a complete copy, but I have store credit to burn anyway so it was well spent on this one.
I wouldn't hold onto those expectations. Odds are GS will send you the disc only.

I've heard rumors from friends that GS deliberately does not send cases and manuals because it likes to hawk those separately through ebay. Not sure how legit that is but I can certainly see some of its EEs doing that. Now, of course, I suspect this is no longer the case given GS has a guarantee on case/manual for this generation's games but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened in the past.

IOW, don't expect old-gen games to come with anything but the game.

Word of warning to those seeking this out, you need a PS2 or a 60/20 Gig PS3 to play this game. If you have a PS3 that plays games through emulation, there is a point in the game you CANNOT get through. I did not know this when I bought it a while ago and ended up having to buy one of those save transfer devices to put my save on a PS2 card and finish this section on a real PS2 and transfer back.

Yea I'm not holding my breath but I really just want to play the game as I thought Vesperia was awesome and this will probably be more enjoyable not trying to get achievements while playing through it. But one can only hope for a complete copy.

And to Nido thanks for the heads up luckily I am playing on a PS2 so I have nothing to worry about.

From my experiences, if it says it MAY not come with an original box/manual, it won't. But still, for a really hard-to-find game that's the best in its series (IMO) $25 shipped is a steal.

Came in today case and instructions!!!! SWEET! Unfortunately the Tales of Symphonia I also ordered did not have the instructions but who cares when you get a complete Tales of the Abyss for $25 with credit from those 50% bonus trades.

I got a tales of symphonia the other day in store complete for $18. It is in great shape and I was very happy with it. I wish I could find a tales of the abyss for $25 complete though...

The reason they don't have cases and manuals is because people trade them in that way. You would be surprised by how many people simply throw out the cases/manuals. Would also explain why so many used games are in such deplorable condition, as if they're not stored in a case and are out in the open they are prone to becoming scratched.

:O I'm admittedly surprised. Hopefully the extra copy I ordered has it, as well.

I really want to get TotA...but really, it's still too damn much for me. And the no guarantee of getting the original box and manual really don't warrant me shelling out $25 for it online. And while I could get it at the store, that's even more expensive.

I got lucky with a few good finds today at my local GS including a copy of tales of the abyss and legendia, along with a copy of dark cloud and devil summoner 1 and I bit on sealed copies of Disgeia 3 and Sacred 2.
