EDIT: Must be logged into your Amazon account to have the coupon show up.

Saw this at SD and thought it was worth mentioning. Still a long time before it releases (4/12/11) and it's possible it'll be cheaper but this is still a pretty good deal.

On the product page there is a button that says "clip this coupon" it'll take off $8 dropping it down to 21.99 shipped

I got Bambi a day early as well (but still haven't watched it yet ;-( ).

wow, dunno why but I didn't feel like spending $21 for this from Amazon back in December... probably since Amazon had been so bad about getting anywhere near as good of deals as the B&Ms were for Disney. Guess I should've gotten in on it anway since the $16.99 is about the best price (by FAR) on this!

Congrats to all who get it...

I placed the pre-order hoping for this to happen, with the intent to cancel it if it stayed at $21.99. Happy that it worked out! :D

Huh, weird. When I called Amazon yesterday about the price, the rep that I spoke to told me to give it until Wednesday for the $5 difference to be credited back to my card. She said that she'd keep an eye on it, and if it didn't happen by Thursday morning, she'd intervene.

But then today, I got an email from her telling me that she'd issued me a $5 Amazon "promotional certificate" to make up the difference (not a refund to my card, but a credit to my Amazon account toward a future purchase).

I mean, I guess that's fine, since I do a lot of ordering from Amazon anyway. Still, not exactly what I expect from a price guarantee . . .

They can give you the $5 promotional certificate, though by doing so, they're violating the T&C for the pre-order price guarantee, since it's supposed to be a refund back to your card.

If they do that to me, I'm going to be asking for the $5 back to my credit card, as they should have charged $16.99 AC regardless. As they charged $21.99 AC, they owe me $5 of refund, not $5 worth of promotional certificate.

Yeah, if it were just about anyone other than Amazon, I wouldn't let it slide, but since I've already got my next Amazon order in mind anyway, it really doesn't matter -- it would probably all show up on the same credit card bill anyway! More effort to argue with them about it than it's worth.

Besides, there's always the chance that she just jumped the gun, and I end up getting the $5 refund through their automated system yet as well. ;)

Got my pre-order price protection refund today. I didn't email, chat or anything because the last few times I've done that, it's ended up coming as it should anyway. This is why I love Amazon. Most other retailers would have argued "You already got a cheaper price because of the $8 discount we gave you!" But with Amazon, I paid $16.99, got it a day early, and didn't have to leave my house. This turned out to be a hell of a deal!

Ditto.

The only grief was that they shipped it in a bubble mailer so the paper slip cover was dented at the corners. The freakin' Seattle warehouse seems to be doing bubble mailers for my stuff. I wish they would use a better judgement in the choice of packaging, but apparently they are for speed rather than for the protection of customers orders.

Wow, mine was in a huge box, probably three times bigger than it really needed to be. I certainly prefer that over the bubble mailer, but geez... Amazon has been doing this long enough, you'd think they'd have it figured out by now.

Got an email saying that I had been refunded too. Haven't bothered checking my account to see if I also got that $5 credit the CSR said she was going to apply or not. Certainly not going to force the issue if they didn't give it to me, but not going to go to a whole lot of effort to correct them if they did either. They need to get their system worked out so it's at least consistent from one time to the next.
