Hey all! Playing around with my new hilariously large laptop.
Anyway, I bought THIS laptop. I paid $1230.99 and $1281.99 (before tax). They were Open Box Fair and Satisfactory. I also had student coupons so I received 2 cards of Office 365 Personal 1 year subscriptions for free. Those are $69.99 on the website... Which I'll be selling those. I checked the service tags on Dell and there is 363 days remaining on the one I'm keeping, so it is nice to have a warranty. I haven't checked the other, that one will go to my brother. Also, the one I am keeping said the original ship date was 12/27/2016, so it was definitely not an old piece of tech.
The physical condition is IMPECCABLE. One came in the original Alienware box with all the inserts. The other came in a generic box. Both came with charging cables. The "Fair" condition one needed a bit of screen cleaner since whoever cleaned it at Best Buy left some smudges. Not an issue though.
I feel like I really lucked out! I got the last two in the store since it said OOS after, but I am pretty sure there are others in my area. I checked around and found the same model laptop going for $200+ more on eBay with worse specs and can't find anything that low with a 1070. Let me know if I'm crazy... I have 15 days to return these bad boys if I fouled up.
Could I build a PC with these specs for this price? I know I've been out of the game for a while, but I feel like the parts would definitely add up.
