Deal of the Year

Trikip

CAGiversary!
Today at a local game store, I found shaq-fuing CIB SHAQ-FU! It was $3 and my first complete SNES game. I wanted to see how bad it was. Ha.

On a more serious note (and actually why I made this thread), I also bought CIB Super Star Wars. The interesting thing about this was that it had the original receipt from 1994! I wasn't even three months old (I'm such a little kid.) But anyway, have you ever bought a used game that came with an original receipt like this?

Also, it's creepy because my entire SNES collection begins with the letter "S"! Even after buying these two new ones. Creepy stuff, man.

Thanks. I assume you are refering to Super Star Wars on the good find? Because Shaq-fu is not quite a good find.

Yes, indeed I am - Super Star Wars is a great game. I actually loved all of those titles...

I can't wait for the Force Unleashed, which, I hope, will return glory to Star Wars games.

Old receipts are always fun to find. They're windows into the past. Just seeing that someone paid $19.99 for MAFIA for Xbox is funny.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The original owner of Super Star Wars paid $30 at KB Toys.

LOL I bought 2 Jaguars and about 10 games from a guy this spring, one system was NIB, and the other he said was hardly ever played, The recipt that was in one of the game boxes was for over $700, and that only had about half the items on it!!

just before i left TRU in '03, we were blowing out the Star Wars games on SNES for 4.97 in the old red bargain bins. i picked up one of each "just in case"... kinda pointless now that i think about it. still, sealed old games of any kind is fun, even if they're not worth much.

I'm as old as Trikip, we must be the youngest CAGs.

Receipts are cool. I bought a copy of Beavis And Butthead for the genesis and there was a receipt for $64.95 in it. XD

I found a few old receipts but the best was a huge warranty form for my NES. It's completely filled out with everything but it was never sent out by the original owner. It's amazing that it's stayed with the system all this time.

Good find OP!

They are. Also ads are good too. I recently found a Toys R Us ad in my room that had the Dreamcast priced at $200. It was the week that Resident Evil: Code Veronica was coming out and that's shown for $50.

I've bought a few games from GS before with GS reciepts inside them, with the paying price at 60 or 55. Usually they're from the local area, but I've seen a couple with stores half way across the country O.O

Back in college though, a friend of mine bought a old vcr at a thrift store for $10 so he could use the inputs to play games on the tv he brought, inside the instruction manual was a reciept for the vcr from 20 years ago, at $399 IIRC. Ah, sometimes you forget how much those things costed, and with inflation, Im sure that $399 was worth more back then.
