Deal on memory stick PRO?

CAGiversary!
Howdy, not at all a new user, just forgot my password to my bileanddcay account.

Anyone have an inside scoop on memory stick pro (as opposed to standard memory stick) at a good price?

The best I found was about $70 for a 512 and $115 for a 1 gig. Please help me CAGers!

Thanks.

Check newegg.com or CostCo

I know Sony had a rebate on the 256 MB card, which you could get for a decent price. I was looking for a larger one also, but I now have two 256 cards

Thanks for the help here.

But... this raises another question: is there a differeence between memory stic proand memory stick DUO pro?

Ugh, how frustrating. Thanks for nothing, Sony.

Hehe, odly enough, I'm not even interested in the PSP (yet).

Looking for a memory stick for a DSC-T3 that I may be picking up.

So, are the 3 formats (PRO, PRO DUO, ULTRA PRO DUO) a string of evolutions to the technology, or are they 3 seperate formats that will/not work in specific hardwares?

Again, thanks for any insight.

Hardware that uses Memorystick will not accept Memorystick DUO, and vice versa. However, whichever one it takes, it will take all versions of it (PRO, ULTRA PRO). DUO is shorter and thinner. So, you'll want to check what the camara you're getting uses.
Here is a picture of a Memorystick and a Memorystick DUO

Thanks very much for the distinction between the different formats. That helps a ton.

So, does the ULTRA make it that much better?

As far as I understand, the memory stick PRO format is one of the faster ones available.

perfect for a psp :)

kinda cheap prices too imo.[/quote]

Egad.

$219 for a 1 gig stick seems a bit exorbatant. And that's AFTER the $130 price drop!

Granted, it is Sony-branded, and that is what I'm looking for.

As it turns out, the seller is giving me the camera in mint condition with all accoutrements AND a 256 pro duo card. And shipped free. God bless him.

I attribute his coolness in the matter to the fact that he is an Apple user. :p
