CAGiversary!
Alright, I know games with a monthly fee arent under the spectrum of cheap, however my gf and I like playing games together and mmos are usually good canidates for this. Anyone know of any good deals on city of villains/ city of heroes?

also if anyone plays this game would they reccomend it? Or are there any other mmo reccomendations?

thanks!

as far as deals go, I think your best bet is to find a copy at circuit city. I bought a few copies of city of villains for 19.99 each there.

the game itself is ok, good for a couple months while you wait for another game hehe. one of the best parts of the game in all honesty is the character creation. playing dress-up is fun

I'm pretty sure the Good vs. Evil edition is $20 at Circuit City, because it was $10 a few months ago during their 50% off PC games sale. It doesn't show up on the website, though.

Another thing you can try is just finding one game separately. When the publisher fully acquired the property a few months back, they gave everyone access to the other game at no cost. Both games have been pennied out individually at Gamestop/EB, so you might want to check there.

The game is great, but it's from before World of Warcraft, so it is dated. You can seldom solo or even duo, and playing with a team is absolutely necessary. Thankfully, CoX has the best community of any online game I've seen, and most people would be glad to help you out if needed.

Have you tried Guild Wars? They're all cheap, there's no monthly fees, and it is more or less an MMO, minus the persistent world. There's also Tabula Rasa if you demand immediate satisfaction from your games, though there's no longevity to it.

highly recommend this game. its alot of fun and they continue to add new content all the time. some say its a lil repetitive but with all the new content there is a lot of things to do

You can find old copies of CoV at Half Price books. i'm not sure how much they cost, but they can't be that much. There is also a 14-day trial somewhere online.

CoV is an excellent MMO with a great following, but like the others, the magic wears off after awhile. I played for about a year before I finally got bored with it.

Dunno if it's still there, but there was a copy of CoV at Amazon Warehouse (damaged box stuff) for 6.50 or so earlier this week. You could check, but things like that go quickly.
