i really really want one now.

but i won't be able to really play it till the fall (i'll be in asia this summer)

should i buy one now and get back to it, or wait for the fall?

i ask this because i'm worried that the price of a used ds will go up when new games come out.

right now you can score a ds with a few extras (sometimes a case, or a game) for around $100

i just don't know what to do.

In really doubt the price will fall down for a good long time and its not worth waiting a half a year for around a $15 price drop. Just look for one on sale (should be around $130 on sale) and at that price the DS is very well worth it. At launch I would have differed but now there's a decent amount of good games available and a really promising looking selection of games coming out.
I can not find any super fun games for it right now.
you either have a queer definition of fun, or are not looking very hard.

OP for $100 with extras snatch that up.

Wanna buy a dreamcast? ;)

I've got some SNES games and GC games that I might sell, so maybe i can afford this

I am really enjoying mine. GBA games look really good on it, and Super Mario 64 is awesome (the only game I own ATM).

you could probably get one now and take it with you, and then pick up some titles in Asia. I don't think there is any region lockout on he system

I agree. Personally, I don't think you need one right now because of the lack of games but I do believe the price will go up after the summer. PSPs are still hotter, on ebay, so the DS is getting much less demand. If I were you I'd buy one now and bring it as CaseRyback said. I got mine with Mario for $100 which I felt was the highest I would pay for one.

Once Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and (gulp) Nintendogs come out, I'm going to want one bad too. Who would have thought a pet simulator would be a killer ap?
DS is worth it if you're a fan of Nintendo / Puzzle Games...

If you're not, then pass.
castlevania and viewtiful joe won't fit those categories ;)
I love my DS. I can't believe it, but I find myself playing my DS more then my PSP.
Same here lately, thanks to Naruto :D

Owned three PSP's, all had pixel problems.

Got a DS; No battery life worries, plays my GBA games, no load times. The only concern is scratching my screen. Get a screen protector.

Sure, Lumines and Hot Shots Golf are great, but Mario DS, Yoshi Touch and Go, and Wario Touched are equally fun.

I couldn't be happier with my DS!

I played Mario 64 too much when i was younger, and i mean WAY too much. I think that is why I dislike it for the DS. Only game I want for it right now is wario ware.

i love my DS, polarium is a great game, as is yoshis touch and go, i play them a lot, not to mention my gba games.... there is something cool about starting up my ds and then deciding if i should play fire emblem or polarium

Dont have a PSP but DS has a wider variety of games (PSP only has Sports/Racing and puzzlers). I can recommend FTM, Mario 64, Wario Ware, and Asphalt Urban (extremely underrated, its like a portable Burnout with real cars). In the fture i am also looking forward to Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Goldeneye, Animal Crossing, Super Mario, Metroid Hunters, Mario Kart, plus more.

I'm enjoying my DS . . . I got it for $130 shipped complete with Mario 64 complete . . . $130 in EB credit that is :)

So far, I also have WarioWare, Yoshi, and Zoo Keeper.

I didn't own a GBA . . . so I've been scooping up cheap GBA games as well.

My kids love the DS too . . . and I can play it with them.

If you're not going to play it, I would wait, the price of the system new may drop in fall

how is naruto? this is a platform game right? would there be any language barriers?

When Castlevania comes out on the DS...it might almost warrant the purchase for me (big Castlevania nut here).

Honest truth, right now there ain't s**t on the system worth buying! (and Mario DS is practically pointless if U played out Mario 64 when U were younger).

I think you mean that there isn't anything that you think is worth buying. I think that:

Zoo Keeper
Yoshi Touch and Go
WarioWare Touched
Polarium
Pac Pix

are all worth buying.

The fact that you can get most of these games for $25 after GGC at BB is pretty sweet too.

And if you're not a puzzle game fan or a huge Nintendo fan that list you typed out is pretty much worthless.

Espically since WW Touched is the weakest of the series.. WW Twisted is better by far.

I got mine for 70 bucks with Super Mario 64, then picked up WW Touched, Puyo Pop Fever, and Zoo Keeper. My gf still plays the DS, but I've pretty much grown bored with it.

I love my DS, but I would definitely wait on it for a couple months until some more titles come out for it. I personally love puzzle/falling puzzle games so the DS is perfect for me, and I do enjoy it. Also I didn't have a Gameboy Advance, so having EVEN MORE games to choose from is really nice. Gameplay over graphics.

June looks like a good month for the DS with Kirby: Canvas Curse and Meteos coming out within a week or so of each other. Also as others have mentioned there is a lot to look forward to, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, CASTLEVANIA, and so on.
Im waiting for other colors...

I want a white one.
EGM says that they are comming out with like an electric blue in June or July. Something like that.

just got an offer for DS in box (used) with Feel the Magic for $100 shipped usps priority

i'm tempted, but i think i should hold off?

It depends on how much you want it. I'd do it myself if everything was like new and complete.

again, i think i'll be playing it in the fall (i don't really want to take it to asia, just to get it stolen or lose it) so i should probably wait yah?

You should write up some impressions on it in a new thread. I'm hoping it comes to the States.

And $100 on a DS w/ Feel the Magic seems like a really good deal. Get it, but make sure there isn't a dead pixel or something else shaky about it.
