CAGiversary!
I don't believe this has been posted yet.

Do NOT use them for any of your purchases.

I bought my XBox 360 Play and Charge kit from them because it was a decent deal.

About a month later, I am checking one of my bank accounts to confirm it for paypal and I notice a $10 charge.

I checked the number "800-889-8776" on the charge on google. It turns out they are affiliated with DeepDiscount.com (shopper discounts & rewards) and they've been known to charge $9 or $10 per month. One customer in particular had been charged $10 for 11 months, totaling $110.

Save yourself the trouble. Do not deal with them.

If you don't have one already, use VCC. I have learned my lesson and will be using VCC for online purchases from now on.

I've never had a problem with Deep Discount. In fact, I'm looking forward to there next 20% off sale!
It sounds like you signed up for that $10 cash back promotion that will cost $10 a month if you don't cancel it.

I don't recall signing up for that. Only thing I might've signed up for is the $10 coupon on next purchase. However I don't remember seeing anything regarding a $10 per month charge, and I wouldn't sign up for that if I saw a monthly charge.

Signing up for that got you...if you read the terms it will tell you that you are signing up for a service I believe.

Wow I don't even remember seeing that. They are sneaky little buggers.

If by sneaky you mean telling you in the offer then yeah. You get to try them for x amount of days before cancelling. I did it a while ago and got my $10 off and didn't pay anything. You really should read what you are signing next time....

I think I would've remembered seeing that in the offer, and just to be sure, I also double checked all the emails I received from them. I didn't see it explicitly stated anywhere.

That was uncalled for, particularly because you don't know me and how OCD I am regarding these kinds of things to make sure I don't sign up for some stupid program.

Clearly not OCD enough. Did you think it was a free $10 off with no catch? There's always a catch!

I ordered the Brisco County Jr. Dvd set from them a little over a week ago. Had absolutely no problems with them, shipping was fast and the dvd set came in great shape.

After you place your order the next screen will say "Do you want $10 back." If you click Yes you're signed up, if you click No you go straight to the confirmation page.
LOL. If you would actually pay attention you would know what you signed up for. This is not the fault of deepdiscount, it is your own.
Wow. With all this negative feedback it's almost as if you don't want people to post buyer beware type threads even if it is just a little thing that needs clearing up for future buyers just in case they overlooked random fees or whatever.

It's cool, most forums are pretty hostile anyways. Just lock.

This isn't a "buyer beware" situation though. Its like if I were to sign up for gamefly's free trial, and complain when I get charged after the first two weeks.

Most people here are well aware of the $10 rebate from deepdiscount and the shopper rewards program. I use it everytime the 20% off sale comes around. You just need to read what you are signing up for and cancel your account withing the first month.

Yeah, I have to agree that there is "nothing to see here," as it were. This isn't a buyer beware kind of thing. No one pulled the wool over your eyes or anything. You simply didn't read what the full terms of what you were getting into.

Deep discount is easily one of the best and most reliable sites to shop from online. You signed up for that stupid thing at the end of making a purchase there. I absolutely hate the shadiness of that, but if you can look past it and always read the fine print on anything you agree to, you'll be a lot happier with them and any other store in the future. I did this once in the future when I was running my own business. I did it with the free business card company that you'll see advertised every now and then, I think it's Vista or some crap like that. I signed up for their free cards and unknowingly signed up to be charged like $20 a month or something for a rewards program thing. I argued even though it was obviously my fault, shady or not...and they credited me I think 50% of the money back. It had stacked up to like 8 months or something. That's what I get for not reading fine print and for not checking my bank account regularly. Chalk it up as learning from your mistakes.

You obviously missed it. Like i said i've done it and alot of people here have as well. Its mentioned everytime they have their 20% off sale and its pretty clear your signing up for a service. They aren't just handing you $10 for free, no one does that.

It's very very very clear for the page that comes up of what you're getting into if you don't click on the "No Thanks" link.

Sorry you were taken, but I've never missed it when they started to put it up there on the site for the last couple of years.

This always comes up when I reccomend DD to people: "I know the site looks a lil' cheap, but it's totally legit, and the price are great. The only thing is never get the $10 off coupon at the end because they'll sign you up for the 'great fun' club and charge you a hundred bucks a year. otherwise, It's super!"
