Note: You do NOT have to download their client! You can even have the game on Steam!

Also:
Official DL site is BOGGED DOWN. I seemingly was at 1MB for about 5-10 minutes before I noticed it was barely making any progress. I looked for some mirrors for the latest version, 1.6, and this is what I found:

Mirrors for MUCH FASTER DL:

http://games.softpedia.com/progDownload/Defcon-Download-31360.html (click external mirror)

** Foreign mirrors (don't worry, the game is in English):

http://www.download.hr/download-defcon.html

http://www.netzwelt.de/download/6172-defcon.html

** If you have STEAM:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/1520/ (click download Demo)

The demo is the same as the full version and should be ~58.9 MB. You can unlock the full game (no further DL req) by entering the CD-Key that Greenman gives you (in e-mail or greenman account page) in the demo.

It says my account isn't activated, even though I clicked the activation link in the e-mail and resent it again. Thanks for the heads up, though. Maybe it'll work later...

I had that problem as well - I was using my local email provider's account. They suggested using a Yahoo, Google, or similar account and it worked.

I have a G-Mail account, and now it's working. Just got my key. I guess I just had to wait, lol.

I used a live account to register and Microsoft's filters decided it was spam. Just a heads up for anyone else using a live/hotmail address.

Thanks, OP.

Yeah how do you fix it right on steam, I notice that the greenman key doesn't stay in there, it keeps going back to the steam authentication key.

Thanks for the info though it's still free and looks pretty cool too.

I'm not getting the email to verify my account... =/

EDIT: Use a different email and it went through.

Also after activating the game through the demo in Steam it still says the game is a demo, and then the actual game appears right above it and it suggest for me to purchase it, as if I had never bought it...what gives?

It verifies the key with its own server, Steam has no idea that you bought it. This is just a way to download it through Steam. You're not activating it with Steam.

Thanks for the info on getting the game OP, but Im still trying to figure out how to download it/play it through Steam. I got the email where it gives me my activation key, haven't done anything with that yet. Trying to go through the site (Green Man Gaming) to see what all I need to do but it's going alittle slow due to it being bogged down. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
