GREAT deal....too bad I already have a 17" WS LCD/TV monitor. (Had a good Gateway deal a while back) If not, I would've jumped ALL over this.

Man, that's one hell of a deal. Especially since every LCD Dell monitor I've seen looks fantastic (not just saying that because I already own one, too). If you're looking at switching over to a LCD screen, I'd jump on this deal.

its not accepting the coupons for me. says "The following coupons have been entered but require additional information or do not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information."

Might be expired now was a limit of 5000 uses.

I have this monitor-- Got it for 500 previously, AR. Outstanding Price for it, does everything well, and no ghosting with the refresh.

The deal is DEAD....too bad, I actually found someone who would've bought my 17" monitor for $200, so this would've been cheap for me....oh well.

Dang DELL you are fast mine is scheduled for Delivery tomorrow and is actually only about 3hrs from its delivery location!!
EDIT: And yes my other 1/2 is going to kill me, so I many not be alive come Wednesday, she keeps asking me if there is any possible way I will send it back, but I probably have got someone to already buy my 19" CRT for $100 so that'd cut the cost down a bit for me. Hopefully eventually she'll get over it.

BTW anyone know of a good cleaning product/solution for my new LCD?

Bought one.....got 1% back with my citicard, then another 2% because dell is part of their 'merchant network'. So got it for about 400$ after tax.

HOLY CRAP!! I've been waiting for this deal to come someday I'm definitly all over this ever since my last monitor crapped out on me
im seeing reviews that say its not a good monitor for gamin......anyone who got this before confirm this?
I have 2 of the 2001FP's and they are awesome for gaming, everything looks great at 1600x1200. I have never had any issues with ghosting.

The only problem you might have with gaming is most lcds have troubles with games like Doom 3 that are set in a constantly dark environment. The backlighting for lcd's tends to make dark games look slightly washed out, but it is something you may or may not notice.

Also, since you are buying a dell monitor if you have any problems with it at all (ie. a dead pixel) make sure to call thier customer service. They will send you a new one with overnight delivery. Although you might be on the phone for more then a hour.
do i need a citibank account in order to get the citibank card?
No you just need to apply for it

Depends on how picky you are. I can detect a hit in performance compared to a CRT, but the impact on gaming is highly subjective. Purists might be bothered by it a lot, but I find it to be minimally intrusive. Generally speaking, I am more pleased by its quality & widescreen beauty than I am bothered by the 16ms refresh time.

(anyone planning to watch DVD's on this puppy should keep in mind that the Hollywood REALMagic decoder board only provides for analog output, so be sure to have a decoder board which provides for digital output unless you want to wallow in software decoding limbo)

Just got mine today, hook it up and it is very nice. However, for some reason, any resolution lower than 1680 x 1050 looks crap. I have a Geforce 128MB 5200 FX video card by the way.

Got mine today, it's a thing of fucking beauty.

1680x1050 is the native resolution, so why would you want to run anything lower? For me the hardest part is going to be finding quality wallpapers that fit.

Because with 1680x1050, it only goes 60Mhz. I'm trying to get it to run at least 70Mhz. With other resolutions with higher refresh, the text looks very badly.

Any clue?

60hz is what all LCDs run at, as far as i know.

Is that true? Can anyone confirm that?

What is the difference between response time and refresh rate?

I'm thinking if response time can go 12ms, so it is actually running at 833hz. If the card can output a refresh rate of 80hz, it shouldn't be a problem displaying that, right? Or am I missing something?

I got one of these, and lemme just say how beautiful my desk has become since it arrived early this year. I got one during the Dellf game with the 30% off coupon and it's just gorgeous. It runs your desktop widescreen, and not to mention how good movies and games run on it widescreen. And to top it all off, I use this monitor with my X2VGA adapter for my xbox and MAN it is something to behold!

NOW ONLY $359 shipped!!!

The starting price for the deal dropped from $749 to $699, resulting in a $30 pricereduction after the coupons. I just ordered one for myself. Great monitor, my wife has had one for 2 months.

Seriously, buy it now! I doubt you'll find a better price anytime soon.
hmm does dell pricematch if you just bought it last weekend? =0
They should, since you have 21 days from the shipping date to return the monitor for ANY reason. So call them up & tell them about this deal. Talk to a supervisor if necessary.
