The 1953 version of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar starring Marlon Brando and Charlton Heston. This is NOT the 1970 version, which was released on dvd. I really, REALLY want this VHS, so if some CAGs have videostores you can check or if you own it, let me know. In fact, if you own it, I'd be ecstatic if you could just make me a copy of it. Can anyone help me out?

You know...I never even thought of checking Amazon. I guess I might have to down $20 on it (for a VHS=ouch). However, if ANYONE out there thinks they can get it to me for cheper, let me know! Thanks Scahom, it might be my last resort to go to amazon.

This title is due to be released on DVD in late 2005 or early 2006 by Warner Bros. Unfortunately, there is no release date set.

Checked eBay for you, but the only thing available there are VCD copies from Asia.

I'm confused, the 1953 version did not have Charlton Heston in it...He starred in the 1970 version.

My fault, I mistook John Gielud for Heston....odd, but I stand corrected.

...A DVd releasE? Where did you get the info on that, if I may ask? I might just be able to wait if this is true.

Representatives from Warner Bros. confirmed that the title is in the works during chat sessions with several websites, such as Digitalbits.com
what is a VHS that you speak of ?
VHS = Video Home System, also known as video cassettes or "tapes".

Reality's Fringe - I have a creepy old video store near me that has tons of crap from 20 years ago. I'll stop in for you and see if they have a copy. Does it matter if it has the original cardboard sleeve?

Nope, as long as it's the 1953 version, it's all good! Thanks for checking!

Here's what I'd do:

- Record the movie on Super VHS (~425 lines resolution) via Turner Classic Movies
- PLAYING ON TCM: 08/19/2005 06:00 AM
- PLAYING ON TCM: 09/19/2005 03:30 AM

- And then if I liked it, and wanted better quality, I'd buy the DVD (~500 lines resolution) in 2006
