check their status. by their level should be a purple status rectangle saying "pkrs". you can spread it after battles if the pokemon are in the 2-5 slots (since it spreads to those next to it).

Hmm...
I don't have Diamond nor Pearl...yet - however from past pokemon games- I do believe you just check the pokemon's status it should say ''PKRS".
I could be wrong though.
 
Hmm... I thought PKRS was supposedly really rare - even moreso than shinies.
But it seems like everyone's been getting lucky?
Is this due to the massive trading?...I wonder.

yeah, massive trading resulted in this pokerus epidemic. i've never had it until this game. funny how i traded for it, stored the guy for use later, then ended up getting pokerus from a wild pokemon a short while later.

AK85, if you have an M3, why not send the egg over to your M3 and back it up, then reload when you trade? I'd like an egg if it isn't too much trouble.

Chansey and Drifloon seem to be my only worthwile pokemon I'm willing to trade.

Thats what I did, I have a save with all 3 starters and manaphy

I'd figure - since, I know I was able to snag 5 shinies on ruby before I've caught the virus. - that reminds me, has anyone caught a shiny new pokemon yet?
I've read most of this thread... may have looked over some. Just wondering.

either way - hopefully I can still infect some pokemon when I eventually get & have the time to play diamond.

just let us fellow cag's know. i have four or five infected ones sitting in the corner of a box waiting to infect...

virus is contained in the box. it only spreads to pokemon next to it in party order (ie pkmn 2 spreads to 1 and 3, pkmn 1 only spreads to 2. so for best infecting, place non-infected pokemon next to infected pokemon).

check out serebii.net and other faqs for more detail. i'm still trying to figure out the mechanics coz i keep finding out conflicting information.

i guess it's a case of RTFM, but i was messing around while waiting for a trade and pressed 'X' while having an invitation. lo and behold, voice chat off. interesting discovery for me, nonetheless, since i wasn't bothered to do much else other than put the game into the ds and not have it leave since.
 
Here's a question. If I were to purchase Pokemon Leaf Green/Fire Red AND Pokemon Emerald, at what point can I transfer the Pokemon from Leaf Green over to Emerald, then transfer them over to Diamond/Pearl?

I'm asking because I'm wondering if I can easily get the original 3 starter pokemon? Aka, pick one, trade it over to Emerald to hold, then restart the game and do the process two more times, before finally having all 3 on Emerald, enabling me to transfer those three over to Diamond/Pearl, then just starting Leaf Green/Fire Red just to play through. I want to know this because I was pretty anal about getting all the Pokemon when I was younger (got all 151 through multiple play-throughs and the use of a gameshark to get Mew)....back in 6th grade, I'm 20 now, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be just as anal were I to take the plunge, get another DS Lite and get Leaf Green, Emerald, and Pearl all in one purchase.

Also can someone confirm that Emerald has all the pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire since Emerald is essentially the "best" version of the three? Or is it that the starter Pokemon in Emerald are different from Ruby and Sapphire vs. emerald?

Sorry for all the Qs, but I haven't played a Pokemon game since Red and with all this buzz and talk about Diamond/Pearl, I want that sense of nostalgia.

If someone can confirm all of this, I am all over this shit. I'm asking all this also because if I can catch all of them without anyone knowing (besides you CAGs), I'd rather keep it that way =D

I can hook you up with Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander as soon as soon as you get your friend code since I have all three on my diamond cart, and I do some heavy breeding
