Did Egon Spangler REALLY write Earthbound (SNES)?


I was browsing IMDB and came across a tidbit on Harold Raimis.

IMDB claims that HE wrote Earthbound.

Now I'm a HUGE fan of Earthbound...
but I don't have it laying around to check the guide...

why on Earth is he associated with this project?

I don't expect that he actually wrote it...
but perhaps there is a character reference in the game that goes to his credit...

i know he wrote Ghostbusters.... and a ton of other crap I'm a fan of...
was there some credit to him in the game for some reason at all?

did they parody Ghostbusters or something?
i know they parodied The Blues Brothers... but that was John Landis and Dan Akroyd.
