Not sure if I posted this (and too lazy to check), but I'd go for the 50001 model, since you can put a hard drive in it, and it has built-in IR.

Traded mine in towards a PS3 back in 2007. Haven't missed it. Barely play the PS2 games I still have.

hmmm, I didn't know that. I will have to look over my ps2 "fats".

Well, you can put a hard drive in all of the "fats," but the IR is handy for using a Harmony remote without needing the receiver that plugs into a controller port. It's nice to be able to turn your PS2 on/off without having to actually get up and press the button.
