So I had to go to Sears today for some paint. For the hell of it, I wandered over to the electronics department to check out some games. There in the case were 2 lonely DS Lites. Needless to say, I bought paint, a DS Lite and the new Super Mario. I had zero intentions of buying this system since I already have a 360, PS2, PSP and a Dreamcast. WTF's wrong with me? I need to stop coming to this site because it's killing my bank account!

PS: DS Lite kicks ass.

lol same here everytime i think im not into gaming i come to this site and end up buying something. but i must say the ds lite is a great purchase i have played this more in one day than i have played my psp in about three months.,

Well I'm a PSP fanboy. That's the system that gets the most love here. It's great at what the DS can't do which is sports and war/shooters IMO. My DS does the fun Mario, Super Monkey Ball, etc really well. I'm curious to try the "Brain" games. I've never been a RPG guy, which seems to be a DS strength.

I know this is constantly asked here but where's the "Palm"/PDA program?

How ironic.

As far as not wanting the lite, but...

I was on the fence about getting one this morning and wanted to take one for a test drive first. But a couple of my buddies got 'em, so we played a little Mario Kart, and then my friend with a lite let me trade with him for a couple of rounds. And holy cow does the DS look like crap after you've played the lite! After only 10 minutes with the lite, the regular DS just looked so dark in comparison that it took my eyes several minutes just to adjust to it. So if you're on the fence about getting one and a bit strapped for cash, don't even try playing one. It will absolutely ruin the original DS for you.

Edit: yeah, so I traded mine in for a lite. I don't regret it one bit.

I actually bought the original blue DS soon after it's release. I wasn't impressed with it although the games were good. I lasted about 2 months with it before trading it in for my PSP. Now I have both and am thrilled.

Quick unrelated question, is anyone using Opera on the DS? Is even available yet?

It doesn't seem to be available yet, but I'm very curious about this, myself. Any sign of it in Japan, or elsewhere yet?

I have been on the fence for DS Lite for awhile now because I didn't think it would appeal to me. I like graphics and I am a graphics whore I was not going to get a Xbox 360 because I didn't think they had a chance to the PS3 (I was proven wrong at E3). After playing the Wii and playing the DS Lite and having so much fun with both I think I have to get one now.
