Wow man you should be writing to square and helping them produce games, because I couldn't agree with you more.
 
A while back there was a HEAPING load of interest in a fan project that was basically a lose group of people trying to make a sequel to FF6 for the PC.
Many times they showed their work to Square just to make sure they were okay with it and kept telling them how interested people were in the project. It was true, a lot of people followed the progress but at a certain point as often happens with fan projects people left the team and the project vanished into obscurity.

I think square is thinking to themselves "people liked some of the worlds we created lets go back and visit them again and see if they have as much a following as that fan project seemed to suggest!" It dosent hurt that they;re creating sequels to some of their mo$t liked of the main$tream play$tation game$. FF7 started a larger facination with RPGs in general due to it's strong use of narative/movies an graphics and 10 dispite it's angst is still a fairly engrosing story with likable characters. If they do sequels to FF8 and 9 then they're totally over doing it.

anyway, if they wanted to make a sequel to ffvii, they shouldve did it years ago, i think squaresoft is better off making a entirely new ff as opposed to trying to ressurect a game that sold more than enough copies...

Being the avid Vincent fan I am, I will definitely be all over this game when (or maybe if) it's released, just because I'm a fanboy. Having a game totally focused on Vincent's past and future will be great for a loser like me, a loser who made Vincent into an avatar out of scratch.

Although it's true that SquareEnix is milking the FF series, and that it's time they add on to another of their series, or create an entirely new one. However, FF is obviously their biggest moneymaker, so they're going to rely on RPG suckers to keep buying the next-in-line FF game, because they've been loyal since FF7, FF4, or maybe even FF2 and FF1.

Dude, thats not cool. Just because someone likes the game, doesn't mean you have to hate them. I'm probably the biggest fan of the game in the world, and thats saying a lot. So do you hate me? Cause I could care less if you do. I llove FFVII, and theres not a damn thing you can do about it, so get over it.

And also, Parathod, is the puppet in your avatar from a Mr. Oizo video? I love the song Flat Beats, and that poppet is in the video, so I was wondering.

I agree, I hated FF7, and I have zero interest in ever seeing any of those characters again. Advent Children, Dirge of the Cerberus, and Crisis Core all sound like complete crap.

I think you got him by obtaining codes for a locked door in the mansion.
