Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days heading to the PSP! Out now
Just got an email from Amazon saying this game will ship later than expected, and listed a delivery estimate of Sept 21-25. I know FSSS estimates are ridiculously long, but this is approximately a 1 week increase in delivery time from the previous estimate of the 14th. Wonder if the game was pushed back to the 15th of September.
damn i had no idea i was told it was coming out on the 8th at gamestop yesterday

I didn't say it was a delay in the release, just a delay in the FSSS, along with wondering why it was pushed back. Prime would be awesome to have but I sure as hell ain't paying $79 for it.

Finally, I catch a break with FSSS! I woke up this morning and find an email saying Disgaea 2 shipped, which I definitely wasn't expecting since it was FSSS. Still doubtful I'll get it this week, but hopefully by Monday.

Shrug, I spent a crapload of time in the item world for Disgaea 1 and it didn't hinder my fun factor at all. I found it much more enjoyable to mix in item world play and story play, though that's obviously not the most effective route for power leveling your characters.

I agree that spending too much time in the item world can take some of the challenge out of the story maps, but you can pass a bill that raises the levels of enemies on the story maps.

man this game is just a major time killer

the Axel Mode
triangle, square, circle, triangle, square, circle, X for the american one at start game screen

kicks major ass..... i decided to go that route before starting the main store..

4 hours in and just got done on chapter 1..... Chapter 2 is a killer the first map has the CLONE spot and your going to have to grind just to beat chapter 2-1

sort of like 2 games in one and that is just wicked cool...

Sadly this title will probally be pushed to the back burner. MONSTER Hunter UNITE will come via gamefly tomorrow and i will probally try that over the weekend... and then Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story comes next weds

so hopefully if nothing happens and dont rent anything

Friday-sunday Monster Hunter
Monday and tuesday Disgaea 2 (then being put away for a while until i beat mario)
Weds the mario game....

hopefully i will have that beat in a week and then hopefully Adventures to Go PSP will come out SEPT 21

but how the talk is Adventures to Go will be pushed back and probally even CANCELLED : (

I just got this delivered by Amazon.

So...

I have all of the following:

:ps2: Disgaea (bought a beat up used copy for way too much when it was scarce)
:psp: Disgaea
:ds: Disgaea

:ps2: Disgaea 2
:psp: Disgaea 2

:ps3: Disgaea 3

I have never played a single one of them. So you Disgaea pros, where should I start? I could also wait for the downloadable Disgaea for PSP and get that (and possibly sell my sealed copy that I paid $40 for :bomb: ). I'm assuming that I probably ought to start with one of the PSP versions - either the one I have or the upcoming DLC one. Or maybe just play Disgaea 3. I dunno - suggestions? Note that there's no way I'll play all of them in sequence right away so if I start one that will probably be it for a while so I might as well play the "best" first.

With Disgaea 1 it's a matter of choice I guess. The PSP one would be considered the "best" version(Etna mode and the ability to skip Battle animations). But the DS has version has a little more content(A few extra characters that were in the PSP version but were NPCs) and a Prinny Commentary mode. But the visuals and audio did suffer a bit. As for 2 just go with the PSP version. It adds some extra content such as Axel Mode, Characters from Disgaea 3 and a few gameplay improvements from 3.

I wonder what this Disgaea infinite thing is....

But is there any disadvantage to just going right into Disgaea 3 first, then going back to the other two on the PSP later?

Other than some minor gameplay changes, no. The only thing you might not get is one of the endings that involve the characters from the first game popping up.

funny thing about your list i have (going backwards LOL)

dont own a ps3 yet but when i do Disgaea will be the first game i will buy for it

disgaea 2 for the ps2 (only played 3 hours or so)
Disgaea 2 for the psp

Disgaea 1 for the ps2 First print with a sticker on top STILL SEALED wooo
Disgae 1 for the ps2 greatest hits SEALED
Disgaea 1 for the ps2 what i put over 100 hours into
Disgaea 1 for the psp did never get into it cause i did not feel like putting another 100 horus into it

Disgaea 1 for the Ds still sealed (got this with that musical adveture game) sold off the soundtrack for the price of the game so it was like gettin git free

its just sad that i paid for disgaea 1 5 freaking times LOL

I keep reading that if I have a Disgaea 1 save file, I should be able to create a Disgaea 1 ronin. Is there any kind of verification I need to do first or does she just automatically show up?

In my creation screen, I have what looks like a Ronin, but she is labeled as an excorcist. Is that her?

Also, should I play Axel mode beofre i play the main game? Will I get any bonuses?

Yes, that is her.

Not sure on Axel mode. Some of the people on Gamefaqs mentioned that beating Axel mode unlocks some of the new features in the psp version, but I am not sure if that is true. I just started with the main game since most of the new stuff can probably be skipped until I'm at endgame anyway.
