hello everybody
(yes.. I know that is lame. Must be from watching too much Simpsons)

I was browsing thru NIS America's website and I came across this.
Disgaea 1 for $29.99 + shipping (the cheapest shipping was $4.95).
Please note that the estimated shipping date is 12/05/2006 (same as amazon, not sure who sure is preselling this).

Couldn't get a direct link to work properly, but this should be close enough
(I'm guessing all of you here are smart enough to type in Disgaea under the search box etc)

Disclaimer:
Hopefully, unlike my last posting (Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee $6 thru Family Video), this deal will actually go thru. It is kind of weird that they're only charging $29.99. Amazon still has the game listed at $49.99 and Atlus Online was charging $49.99 a few months ago (it is not being listed right now on their site).
NIS reliable? Sounds like a must buy from all the "zomg what a funny game" rants i have heard about this.
yep.
If the publisher is not reliable, then I'm not sure who is.

It's a must buy only if you're a fan of strat RPGs, ie; Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre.

Atlus published it. NIS is the developer. Same rule applies though, they are very reliable.

I wonder if there is a new printing out, because gamestop just dropped the price from 69.99 to 39.99 (still too much if you ask me).

Yeah, what I'm wondering is if this will show up at Fry's but be priced at $29.99. All the previous reprints showed up there (at $49.99). I have a used copy I got at EB before they jacked up the prices (now it looks like they are back down again). I'd wait on the Fry's copy to save on shipping (just to have a new one).

Do we have any word on the PSP version coming to the US?

I ordered from NCSX when the reprint was first announced for $49+shipping, and now it's $29. And the orders said they were shipping today on NCSX.
fuck me.

crap, crap, crap! I just bought a new copy off eBay for $70, for my sister's birthday...which isn't for over two more weeks!!!

oh, well. i got in on the 360 for $100. you win some, you lose some...

Ah lame! I ordered it back when Atlus did that small reprint for full price...oh well, at least I have the game.

i guess this is the big reprint. hopefully anyone who missed it the first time around will get to play it now. $29.99 is a good price indeed. Hopefully amazon will have the same price

Yep, I bought this for $50 + shipping a couple months back from Atlus. I guess I should have waited. >_<

But yeah, you win some, you lose some. At least now many more people will be able to to play an awesome game that want to play it, and not have to pay ridiculous amounts of money on eBay in the process.

I still feel kind of burned though. I let my impatience get the better of me. :(

Tried ordering one, put in 1 as the number I wanted to buy, and it said there's not enough copies to fufill your order. So sold out I guess.

Isn't this like the third or fourth reprint of this game? It really is only a must buy if you like strag-rpgs, I got it when it first came out, it's mostly hype over being rare. Well at least people will get another chance to get one if you want one.

ahhh
no..
The error message you got was "Current inventory levels are insufficient to cover this item, but will be shipped as soon as possible". The ship date isn't until 12/05/2006. I'm sure with this massive reprint, there will be more than enough copies to go around.

Yep.
At this rate, Disgaea is going to be the of the most common PS2 game.

I've been wanting this game for such a long time... and now that it's down to $29.99 I can't even afford to spend that much. CURSE YOU, FATES!!!!

Amazon is now listing a 3rd party offering for $39.99. But Amazon's shipment isn't up yet. I'm really hoping for the $29.99 + free ship... I already preordered when they had the $49.99 price up.

I cancelled my NCSX preorder once Amazon put their preorders up. NCSX was charging something outrageous like $8 or $9 for shipping.

Sold my sealed copy for $100, my used copy for around $50, now I get to buy it back for $29.99. Sounds good to me. Disgaea is a great game... Just don't buy it thinking it'll get rare again.

so NIS just took it back from atlus for US re-release or what?
and im guessing that they're doing this before psp version comes out

Even though I own an original, the more people that get to play this the better.

Maybe it will convince square to make a real sequal to the best game ever, FFT

... fuck.

Just got the email today.

And I shelled out the $50 for the Atlus reprint... ><

Tch, seems like Atlus and NIS are having fun screwing with us.

All we need now is Atlus's whitty/sarcastic/cruel commentary popping up at the NIS store now...

I'm guessing that is what happened too.
This is different from Atlus's normal strategy (Print barely enough to satisfy market demand) and more like NIS's strategy (Print enough copies so everyone can buy 100 copies if they wanted to and drop the price eventually to increase demand).

Just got my Disgaea from Amazon. I didn't even know it shipped. They charged the full $49.99... Not as nice as $29.99, but as least I got free shipping. (Or at least I'm going to keep telling myself that to make myself feel better.)
