Disgaea: Hour of Darkness @ Amazon for $29.99

So is this a second print run? Weren't these going for a lot of money on eBay?

Edit: There is also a "bundle" on amazon with Disgaea and Disgaea 2 for $70 - is this a decent deal (I don't want to miss out on these)?

Bundles are just the price of both items added together.

Disgaea was actually the same price over the holiday season when it was re-launched... I think I picked mine up for 25$

i had to bite on this deal for sure b/c you deff. can't beat this game w/ free shipping

ive been waiting to get this game ever since i played it over my friends house a year ago (but the game was going for $60 used at gamestop w/ no copies in sight at the time lol)

but since they re-released it, i can finally get and enjoy this game for a reasonable price

thanks topic poster:applause:

Blast! I literally bought this yesterday from Amazon.com, shipped this morning (so I can't cancel). I've got an e-mail to their customer service department asking if they can just credit me the $20 difference, or if I have to ship the game back and buy it again at the reduced price. Even if I pay for shipping back to Amazon I'll still be ahead $10+.

Amazon will always credit you the difference in cases like these.

Yep they have great customer service, you will get the money back.
Unfortunately, mine was a $50-straight-from-Atlus. To make it worse, I've barely played it since then. D'oh.
How did you get this straight from atlus? Do they have a shop online?

I already had it. But i still looking at PSP version as well ... i called psp version Disagea 1.5. I very happy if amazon drop Disagea 2 down $25.

I brought it at launch for $45 and didnt regart it. Plus I also get the free artbook for sending my registration card.
Just in Japan at the moment, but it's coming to the US.
Is this confirmed? Last I heard NIS America was still trying to decide whether to bring it over or not (I hope they do)

Yup, they certainly did. Got an e-mail this morning saying that since there was so little time between the ship and the price drop that they'll credit the difference ($20) to my credit card. Makes me quite happy. Thanks for pointing out this deal!

Shame on Atlus for reprinting so many times. I'm going to have to sell my mint copies of DDS1 and DDS2 before those are reprinted :(

Why shouldn't they reprint them, if they are going to sell? These are video games - nothing limited or rare about them. How difficult is it to take the build and burn another copy onto a DVD or CD, let alone 5K or 10K?

If the demand is there, let the company make money. I just won't pay $50 for them...hell even $30 is a hard sell. But then, I'm a CAG'er through n through. Good luck getting top dollar from DDS 1 and 2 (but I would confirm they are indeed going to reissue them first!)...

Nice deal. Got in on one. Strategy rpgs's can be time intensive and I still have a few to finish despite years of owning them, but for $30 might as well get this into the collection for later.

Heaven forbid that people should actually get to play the game, or that the company that produced it should actually make money on it!

These aren't limited edition collectibles just because some people treat them that way.

Absolutely, if you are buying video games as an investement, you are making a bad investment. Atlus shouldn't have any shame for reprinting, if they had shame it would be due to artificially limiting supply (if they do). I'll never understand why gamers on CHEAPASSGAMER don't want reprints to bring down game pricing, and get more games in the hands of those who haven't played them yet.

You are assuming that everyone on CAG is an actual "gamer". Collectors like to save and make money, too.

The problem is more that videogame collecting has not yet been organized. Reprints are less valuable than the original, but if the reprint is indistinguisable from the original it undermines the base for collecting- greatest hits, etc. partly clears this up, but not by a whole lot and certainly not in this case.
Personally, I am very happy to see games get reprinted, and I wish it would happen FAR more often. The backlists are so rich, especially with backwards compatibility a given. Having to shop for a company's titles on ebay is a hassle.
As many people as possible should get the chance to play the old games, but the system of reprints should more organized than it now is.

Thanks op, in for a copy.

Edit: Devil Summoner is now slightly cheaper at 26.59

Worse--- I didn't even open mine yet. :whistle2:(

Well I guess I am assuming people on a site called cheapassGAMER, are gamers, and also that they want games cheap and not artificially expensive because of supply issues. I don't have a problem with collectors, I have a huge collection myself, but video games are a bad investment, and people using video games for profit as a collector's item shouldn't be surprised when they get burned.

even more worse, I didn't open my $50 purchase either.

Odd. Even though it's still available to order from Amazon at $29.99, I just got an e-mail from them stating that there would be a delay, with an estimated shipping date of May 9th - May 25th. Sounds fairly tentative, and I haven't had good luck with Amazon.com delays in the past. I intend to hang in there, but just FYI, the "in stock soon" status seems a bit deceptive.

Thanks for the update! I've heard great things about this game (and it's tough to find) - so I added myself to the waiting list.

I'm doing the same for Katamari Damacy...although that is supposed to ship in the next few days according to my order status. Who knows.
