i bought my copy at CC a little less than a month ago. they have a ton (like 10) at the place i got it.

Toys 'R Us has a bunch! I got mine there a few months back (before the re-release) and there were at least 10 copies available.

Yeah, I've seen them at TRU also.

I haven't noticed any change in stock levels or different stores carrying it since the re-release. :?

I got my copy at Gamestop a month ago for $44.99 not a good deal but it was worth it

Yeah TRU should have at least one, there has also been two copies at my local Sam Goody since like March.

I'm thinking about getting this game, it is really worth the $50 asking price. I have never spent that much on a game, and just wanted to know if it's worth it.

If it is your first $50 game, no it isn't. It's good and all, but if you are unwilling to cough up $50 for any other game this one definitely doesn't deserve it.
