Disgaea, La Pucelle or similar game

Gnomeslayer

CAGiversary!
I'm trying to find a good deal on Disgaea, or a good pre-order deal for La Pucelle. I know gamestop is offering a mini-strategy guide with pre-order, but are there any better deals?

But I suspect getting either or these games isn't gonna be cheap, so can anyone recommend a cheaper, similar game? :D

Thanks in advance.

I think the gamestop deal is the only "bonus" preorder deal around, and I haven't seen it for less than 49 anwhere. As for cheap price on Disgaea, I found mine used at gamestop for $44.99, used my 10% off card and got it for 40, which is about the cheapest you'll likely find it.

I saw Disgaea for $39.99 used at Gamestop the other day. It was $44.99 @ EBGames used.

However, one of the EB's I went to had some deal where you buy one used game and you get the 2nd for 25% off (plus 10% if you have the EB card).
I picked up Chaos Legion and Culdcept for about $40. Both were used (but complete), but Culdcept was practically brand new.

By the time you're sick of Disgaea and La Pucelle, Phantom Brave will be out, which is the latest Nippon Ichi SRPG.

If by some miracle you haven't played it, then FF Tactics can be found for $15 these days (the original PSOne version). It's an excellent strat-RPG - but again, odds are you already know that. ;)

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but is the ps1 version of FF tactics the same as the gba version?

No, it's different, and if you're a fan of tactical RPGs and haven't played it yet then you should definately check it out.

I'm not sure that Best Buy will be carrying it. They don't seem to carry a lot of the niche titles, especially by lesser-known publishers. They did carry Disgaea though so there is hope.

There is also Vandal Hearts I and II, Rhapsody (another nippon ichi game) which is way more girly, and the previously mentioned kartia

Have faith people, if any of you recall the MSNSHOP coupon they had at EBgames, that snagged me a 30% discount on Disgaea. Keep your eyes peeled, and we all might come out on top : )
