Incredi-can you point to the area where it says they are BD not SD? I did read the thread, and someone else told me that FS is discontinuing SD Steelbooks. The cases look like SD's (though some past BD Steels aslo had no blu bar (Fight Club).Thanks for your or anyone else's help-DB

BUT...they will be Blu Ray Only (sorry DVD folks)

They are VERY expensive to have made (they come from Europe!!) and I only get so much cash from the vendor to balance the cost back down so YOU dont have to pay more (or only a little bit more).

Often I can leverage a run from a big retailer in the states but they have been backing off these this year so Watchmen was the first big one I was able to do this year (We were very excited about the art on that one...thanks Warner!)

We have the following happening,

Disney...look for a big Disney program that involves some of the older classics and the new ones (UP, Wall E, Snow White and many more)
Almost all the big ones and some medium ones will have steel books , Star Trek, Terminator, Harry P, Inglorious Basterds, Public Enemies, Angels Demons...and maybe Hangover

We do our best to get cool unused art on the outside AND inside so we hope you enjoy this batch.

These will all be blu-ray, futureshop no longer makes or sells DVD steelbooks. For those that wanted ALL, it will be for the 11, ie NOT INCLUDE Snow white unless you ask for it. As of now I am buying no Snow White because of the overlap.

Thanks Incredi-yes I found that post. But then I saw the cases I wanted to be sure-I guess it wouldn't be the 1st time we though a title was coming out in BD steel and then didn't, so I wanted to double check. Thanks for re-posting!
 
I just noticed a little further down in the thread link iNCREDiPiNOY posted Ian from future shop replied to someone asking if they will limit the number of purchases per household, saying "we will def be limiting the sales , some the them are very limited".

AccordTR, will this effect the buy in plan?

They are always limited online, 3 per house or sometimes 1 per house. Never had any issue buying locally. I goto multiple stores and usually buy 100 or so. I'm not going for 100 of each of these, more like 30, simply because theres so many to buy. I dont see any issue getting 30 or so between 4 stores each week.
 
That makes a lot more sense. I've become such an internet only shopper I practically forgot retail stores exist and are a viable option. I guess I can calm down now and stop trying to do six degrees of Kevin Bacon (Manitoba?) with friends and family in Canada.

Follow the link, it shows you the prices at store. My final price includes tax, paypal fees, shipping box/wrap/etc, shipping and $5 profit for day off work, gas, time to package, collect money, and go to post office numerous times.

Dang, I'm looking at $358 for the set (12) excluding Snow White + another $234 for the french set (8), the total become $592. Plus 12% ($71.04) taxes = $663.04CAD, converted from CAD to USD, that become $621.04USD ($31 x 20 qty) respectively. And then adds shipping + handling.
 
dont know if you know this, but if you get people to paypal you marked as a "gift" -- you DONT get charged any fees - ive been doing this for months when i pay people for other things i collect
 
yea i learned the hard way, my advise for all the group buyer is to marked the paypal payment as a 'gift' not 'item'. make sense! however, it won't display the buyer's address. :(

If you file a dispute on a gift, you won't get anything out of it, since there's nothing to dispute because it's a gift.

You can do that at your own peril, though it seems you've been lucky enough not to get burned, for the moment.

Agreed, I am not going paypal gift route. Getting 300 paypal gifts is going to look extremely fishy. For the $2ish fee it offers protection to the buyer/seller, that's worth the $2 in my book.
 
Do we know if the Disney's are the combo-dvd blu's? Are the Pixars going to include digital copies like the newer ones have? How much money could I save on shipping if I just waited till the end to get all of them? If you could please PM me and confirm any of these, and also confirm my order below. I sent you a PM almost 2 weeks ago saying I wanted in on all but a few and my name still isn't on the list??? I have changed my mind and want ALL of them now. Please add me to the list :)

Hey, no one knows what discs will be included/excluded yet, BUT the discs are taken directly from the amaray, so chance are you will get everything, dvd, digital copy etc. I cant promise this, only a guess, once they are out we will know for sure with the first batch. I will add you to all of the lists now. Jame

I am just amazed at the $$ being spent here. I've read through all 8 pages of this thread and still don't understand. Seriously, why all the hype? Is it really worth it to pay almost double for a movie just to have a steel cover?
