I have been to Disney World a few times in my life, and it's enjoyable for the most part. (However, I am a huge fan of Universal Studios in Orlando)

Has anyone been to both? I've always wanted to go to Disney Land, but it seems like it is so much more expensive. Maybe because I am on the east coast?

If you have been to both, what do you think about them? Which one is better?

I'm looking to possibly go to one (most likely will be Disney World) for a long weekend next Summer. What I didn't enjoy about D World (and Orlando) was that there were sooo many groups of South Americans who just rolled up in PACKS and they were pushing everyone out of the way all while carrying a team flag. It was so maddening.

Anyway, input please.
Thanks.

Disney World is BY FAR better than Disney Land.

Seriously, going to the Magic Kingdom then to Disney Land its pretty shocking how small Land is.

To be fair, I haven't been to Land since they added the California park, but Disney Land was a huge dissapointment.

Some day, the workers of Disney Land are going to rise up against their overlords in Florida, and civil war between the mascots will break loose. Streets will run red with the corpses of slain Goofys, Minnies, and Jasmines, until the frozen body of Walt is awash in their blood, awakening our world to ten thousand years of his brutal reign.

But the food will get a little cheaper. You won't really want to know why though.

I've never been to Disney World personally (which is waay bigger), but have been to Disney Land a handful of times. I enjoyed my time visiting Disney Land, it is a great family place. The LA area has some nice weather and other great amusement parks to offer as well.

never been to world. but ive been to land. meh. if you dont like south americans i hope you like asians because they travel in packs by the dozens in disneyland. by the end of the day youll have seen thousands.

World>>>>Land

I enjoyed Land as a kid, but it is way smaller then Disney World. I guess if you are in the area, you will have fun at Disney Land, but I wouldn't plan an entire trip around going to only Disney Land.

Land is a joke. I went to land as a young kid and was let down. I went to world just two years ago and it was great. Universal studios was awesome too. You might want to check out six flags great adventure in NJ sometime, but that is only for the fantastic rides, not the atmosphere of other parks.

I've been to both. I prefer Disneyworld by far. However, I end up going to Disneyland more often because its closer to me (I'm closer to the west coast) and my husband has an aversion to flying.

Disneyworld is larger, there are more theme parks and activities to go to, and if you stay on property, much more immersive than Disneyland. Disneyland in California is crammed into a seemingly small corner of Orange County.

Plus there Disneyland is much more expensive than Disneyworld, despite it being smaller. I went to book a couple days in the fall at one of Disneyland's hotels, and to stay on property a few nights there started at $1500. For a couple hundred dollars more I can book a vacation package for an entire week's stay in Disneyworld Florida (with airfare) during the same time of year.

And for both parks, I avoid going during the summer. You get large, rude, pushy tour groups that time of year (especially in Disneyworld!). Also avoid school holiday vacations--then you get large groups of families with very small children having meltdowns all day.

Disneyland in Cali added a new park a few years ago, "Disney California Adventure". What a disappointment. Its filled with a bunch of cheap carnival rides that you go on anywhere else in the country (and definately not the type of quality you would expect from Disney), the park has shorter hours than the Magic Kingdom but ticket prices cost just as much. Plus its tiny. My husband and I were able to see all the shows and go on all the rides in the park in four hours, which isn't even possible in the Magic Kingdom. I've heard they are renovating the park to add more rides and attractions to make it more appealing, but we'll see. I'm avoiding it until then.

I've been to DisneyLand more times than I would care to mention and we just spent 10 days in Florida at Disney World, there are pluses and minuses to both.

DisneyLand is great since everything is so close! You can stay at a hotel just off the property, walk to the gates and be there in 10 minutes. The weather is so much better than Florida (same temp, 0 humidity). That being said, there is a less to do there and you don't have things like Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and EPCOT. There are more rides in DisneyLand but California Adventure is a half day park at this point. Cool to walk around, a couple fun rides but that's it.

Disney World is very cool, huge with a ton to do. However, the friggin bus system is just a pain. It took us anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to get to the park from when we left our hotel, depending on whether we missed a bus or what not. Also, moving from one park to another takes a bit of time as well. That and the humidity...I just don't know how people live in that.

As far as cost goes, it really depends on where you live. I can drive to Disneyland, so it's cheap to me. Disney World is a flight for four, hotel, etc and ends up being a multi thousand dollar vacation.

Judgment may change if Disney builds a Marvel theme park though[/QUOTE]
yeah, but everyone should go to DW atleast once. But also hit Universal Studios while you are there.

Interested in how Disney buying Marvel plays out with the rides @ Uni. Studios IoA.

Islands of Adventure already has somewhat of a marvel theme park which is connected to Universal, therefore making Universal tons better than World IMO.

And On topic, if you must go to one of the Disney parks, go to Disney World, even though land and world blow compared to parks like universal which is also way cheaper.
