Just walked into my GS earlier to start scouting out for upcoming B2G1 free, and right as I started looking at the Wii section, something caught my eye.

So obviously my first thought is, "Is this for the game only?"

Brought it over to the manager, and he told me that the guy traded this in was given the wrong version by his mother, and he had opened it already, so the only thing he could do was trade it in.

Pretty sweet deal considering that this is practically Brand New, and it was only half the price.

Happy days!

So if any of you can find a used copy, it is amazingly cheaper than the new, which for Gamestop is very strange :D

Wow, I can't imagine GS giving them more than $40 for it (and that is probably a high estimate). They probably could have sold it on EBay for twice as much easily.

9.25% sales tax? Jeez, I thought NY was bad with 8.875%

Real nice find though. Surprised it's that cheap. The turn table must be in good condition, too.

Some places of SoCal are 10.25% sales tax.

Nice find though. Gonna go check tomorrow to see if they are selling 360/PS3 version at the same price and have it available.

Nice find. I will need to ask my friend at Gamestop to hang onto any used DJ Hero games that may come in (very doubtful though).
What I want to know is, if the kid was given the wrong version, why did he open it?
Maybe in all his excitement he forgot to look at the giant Nintendo seal of approval or the Wii logo at the top.

Nice deal though OP; even sweeter since you got a like new copy. I doubt I would pick up the Wii version though; all the music related games I've tried to play on the Wii have had horrible input lag, even with calibration.

Anyone think DJ hero will get a price drop around Black Friday, or will this $60 dollar "used" price be the best deal for this game?

It'll get a price drop for sure, but like new for $60 is the best we're going to see for a long time. Good find, OP.

Nice post. What I find interesting is the "You saved $140". Based on this the used Renegade Edition would ALSO be $59.99 as they are saying the new price for their generic "Used DJ Hero" has a base of $199.99 for the new copy.

So now I wonder if anyone who actually spent $200 on the renegade edition would give it up to Gamestop for like $30.....

Wow. That's an awesome deal. Really surprised at GS's price on this one.

LOL, good question. It happened to me once with a game. I would have sworn it was the PS2 version of Madden, but it was GameCube. Luckily, I had a GameCube, but still, I guess it can happen in excitement. Of course, I suppose it's a little easier to miss something on a DVD case than it is on a large cardboard box.

Better question yet, what do you guys actually think of the game? I've been a fan of guitar hero/rock band for awhile now and wondering if its worth shelling out the cash for dj hero. Played the game at BB once and can say it was only OK at first try, which was a similar feeling to when I first started playing guitar hero but learned to love it.

i like the game, better than rb or gh, maybe becoz i feel like i have more control to the music, some mix could sound awful and boring but some are really great
i kinda regret now using my amazon 50% off toward buying it, esp i only hv a wii and now i am pretty much stuck with it since it has no re sell value, and i think this game is pretty much for one player only

I'd buy it for that price, but this is probably not going to be showing up at many GS's given the low trade-in value. A bit like finding Gamecube Component video cables. Once it shows up on the website we'll have a better chance.

I can confirm that 59.99 is the pre-owned price for all platforms of this. Also, when you trade in the game you have to trade in the turntable as well so it will always be a complete set.

So, it's 59.99 used for all platforms at ALL GS locations?

Well the good thing about the Wii version that I did notice is that it works by popping your Wii remote into the controller, much like Guitar Hero III guitars for the Wii, so you did not even have to do calibration, which was actually pretty sweet :D. But I know what you mean. But it was just there, and staring at me for half off. I had to bite. :bouncy:

Headed to GS tonight to pay off my MW2 PO. I'll have to keep an eye out for a PS3 or 360 version of this. Thanks for the heads up.

Good to hear its confirmed for all platforms. Now I just have to decide if I want to go around to all the nearby Gamestops looking for the 360 version, or just wait until Christmas and get it new.

I was actually talking about Guitar Hero 3 (and 5). Incredibly laggy to begin with, and still so even after calibrating. I would literally have to play at least a second early at minimum to hit the note on time. Might not be that bad on Medium, but on Expert, it was unacceptable. As long as you're happy though, that's all that matters.

I asked about it for all platforms today and the guy checked for the nearest location with a 360 version, but it was about an hour drive away.

Picked up PS3 version today for $59.99 + tax! Had to drive 30 minutes (Highland, CA) to get it, but it's totally worth it :)

Closest 360 version was in Arizona somewhere. So if someone wants a 360 version and lives in Arizona, call up your local GS and ask them to check their store or another store near them.

Oh I see. For DJ Hero though, even on hard I still did not have to do any calibration, so hope that helps XD. But yeah, I don't remember the Guitar Hero too well I guess. I play my RB most of the time anyways :D

I dunno, as long as it works for you that's what matters. Do you play on an HDTV at all?

Yeah, on my 46" LCD. But didn't have a problem with DJ Hero at all, so maybe I got lucky. :D

Too excited? Dumbass? Blind? All of the above? Seriously, I guess I'm the only person who checks which version of a game I've been handed as a gift BEFORE opening it to make sure it's the right one?

What makes me laugh is that Gamestop is actually giving you the controller with the game and not selling the controller seperate like they do with the Singstar mics and other peripherals like guitars from the GH games.

It seems that GS can not accept this game for trade in with the game by itself. Because I thought the exact same thing when I saw this, and he told me the only sku they had to take this trade back is to only take it back with the turn table and no sku for just the game itself, so thats different

I went to my local gamestop and they had a copy, but wouldn't sell it to me. They said they had to hold trade ins, I'm calling BS.

I'd question it. You could call back up and ask them politely to hold it for YOU if they need to hold a trade in. If denied then I'd go about getting the GMs number and inquiring at that level.

For what it's worth, hell of a deal already but it seems to me that it's just a sign that the price will come down quick and hard.

Some state's pawn laws say that trade-ins have to be held for x amount of days.

lucked out and snagged a ps3 version today. I was looking for a 360 one but i'll take what I can get. I personally have no desire for it but I was looking for an xmas gift now i'm set. Thanks OP.

If that store was the GS inside Spectrum Mall, then I am the punk that got to it first! Sorries :( I snagged it just before noon.

Thanks to this thread for the incredible find!
