Do many of you still have ps2 because most ps3s aren't bc?

Buy a cheap PS2 off of Craigslist OP. I also urge anyone else wanting to play some PS2 games to do the same, since if Sony sees more people wanting the PS2 games as DLC it'll be as was said previously.

You'll never see them drop to $5 as a download and you have ZERO resell rights to them. fuck digital downloads.

That's why if I ever decide to buy a PSP, I'm getting a 'fat' or 'slim' model. No PSP Go crap for me.

So the ps2 available in stores now (new) has no power brick in the plug?

How would I know if I'm getting one like that? Do they show the model # on the box? The scph90000 one?

The newer slim PS2's have an external power brick and the slim PS3's have a standard PS2 style power wire, as opposed to the PC style big plug one anymore.

Honestly, I haven't seen a new one unboxed in a while, but when I last had one and my one buddy got his for Christmas(a year or two ago) I believe they were still with external power supplies.

I still have my ps2 (2 of them) basically 'cause they're still doing fine, and I refuse to give them away to gamestop for pennies.

Also, my first ps3 (60 gb bc) died while playing a ps2 game. I don't think the disc was responsible (had seen warnings of graphical glitches), but I don't use the replacement I got for ps2 games anymore. It's not worth the headache, when the ps2 is sitting right next to it.

I have the real PS3. You know that beast ass 60 gb with the BC and all the USB ports. And the hidden crack rocks behind the HD (you didn't think it was that expensive for any other reason, did you?). I do have my PS2 hooked up also, since even with perfect BC, the PS3 lacks the old controller ports, meaning peripherial-based stuff like Guitar Hero isn't that friendly on the new system, even wth most PS2/USB convertors. Plus, I have the multitap for the PS2 for like the 3 games that it was made for, and sadly it doesn't work on the PS3 with the convertor. So we're playing Gauntlet and Dokapon on the oldie.

PS2 emulation is coming to all PS3s. I just dont know if it will be end of this year or next year. They are going to announce it as a firmware upgrade along with a new bundle or price drop or perhaps both. Sony still has a lot of things coming for the PS3 to push sales. 3D is coming to all PS3s in 2011 as well. There is going to be a large push on that front as well.
btw does anyone know how well the GOWC sold? if it did well enough chances are they will release more games like that. maybe the more popular series will be released in one upgraded collection and the other games could see a psn release.
It sold 187k first month and from what ive read from reliable sources, it has passed 300k easily. Those sales #s are absolutely incredible, when you realize that a small group of people spent 15 weeks to make this game from source code into a retail release. Money well spent and will continue to be a evergreen title for new PS3 owners for years to come. We will see lots more of these re-releases, count on it.

Please stop talking out of your ass and making assumptions about everything. Please, for the love of god, stop posting unless you are 100% not lying, guessing or making things up like you do repeatedly. All PS2 slims sold have internal power supplies and have had them for a while now.

Yes, I do. I do wish that all of them were BC, too.. I really would like to be able to put my old PS2 away and not worry about when I want to go back and play more MGS3.

wont buy a ps3 till it hits 199 nothing that i even want to play on it...

hell i got a xbox 360 and only played it twice..... lack of room keeps me from doing it... if i had my old game room (where i can hook up all my ssystems then yea , i probally have all 3 major systems but since my cousin moved back in the game room became their bedroom (meaning no room to hook any console system too) that is why im mostly just handheld games

sad i have a almost brand new xbox 360 + hard drive just sitting in their cardboard boxes

yeah, i still have a PS2 slim, but it's still in the box, lol. I bought it to mainly play the PS2's RPGs, but man, too many backlogs, i don't think i even going to hook up my PS2. I'm thinking about eBaying the PS2 and my library of PS2's RPGs.

I have a PS2. I am now selling off my entire PS2 collection and systems because I will never in my life catch up with my backlog. Getting rid of my PS2 is going to potentially clear up 100+ titles.

I just have this feeling in my gut that a bunch of PS2 titles are going to hit the PS3 eventually..

i still have a ps2 and i have a bc ps3. sony said they werent working on bc for the ps3 anymore chances are they will sell the ps2 games as dls the way they do the ps1 games.
