I received 3 games for Christmas from far away relatives. I didn't want either of the 3. I returned one to KB Toys and one to Wal-Mart without receipts as long as I had my drivers license. Do they keep track of the amount of no-reciept returns one makes with their drivers license number or anything? if so, how many are you permitted?

Yes, they do, and many of the major retail chains are creating a back-end system to let them exchange data of this sort of thing. It's an outgrowth of the system Nintendo created for retailers that has been spun off into a separate company.

Does anyone know when Walmart resets it's return system. I already returned 3 times without receipts during the holidays, and I was wondering do I wait until next yearto do any returns, or is the system already reset?

No its a rolling year which means that it will be a year from when you made the returns.

Aren't the rules a little different during the holiday season though? Aren't most store a lot more lenient because they understand most people don't receipts along with their gifts?

customer service lady told me 3 in a six month period...they track via DL # which you present at each non receipt return...makes it difficult to get around

circuit city tracke via phone # from what i can tell, so that makes it easier to get around since you don't have to "prove" you phone number.

wal-mart in my neighborhood lets u do it 3 times within one year. i also have a question about compusa since i have a pack of 100 dvd+r discs that i havent even open yet. The spindle still has the 79.99 sticker but i bought the spindle online for 29.99. You think i could be able to get the 79.99 (plus tax maybe) gc at compusa just like wal-mart does with its 3 returns per year or just the plain 29.99 (plus tax maybe) gc?

i guess it depends on whether you are honest by notifying the cashier that you bought it online for $29.99. if you choose the dishonest route and pass it off that you bought it for $79.99, then YLMV...the fact that it is wrong and illegal does not vary.

Stop discussing returning games to other stores without receipt if they were originally purchased from there.
