Do the old xbox live cards still work on 360?

Found an old xbox live card on sale for cheap, just marked with original xbox logos. Does anyone know if this is usable for the 360 gold membership? any info appreciated.
 
Is that really true? I have a couple LIVE cards from some of the older DDRs that have never been used, but when I went to go use one it said they were invalid.
 
o rly? i seen some shops online that have the old live cards for cheap ill post a link later if i can find it again

Not sure for all, but I know for a while you could use even the expired ones on 360 without qualms.

Too bad they only issue the 48 hour cards (with restrictions) now.
