I've got both L4D2 and MW2 and both of them are vying for my online time. Since I don't have any IRL friends who play computer games, I left to play randoms. I figure I don't really "know" any of you, but we've at least got something in common. Do we have CAG nights for games like they do in the console forums?

No... unfortunately, the PC gaming online community at CAG isn't as organized, developed, or active as the 360 or PS3's communities are. The best you can probably do is go through threads of individual games and PM people who say something like, "I just got this game, looking for ppl to play with! My ID is..."

Post there, get added, and when you're online, just look through the group, PM someone who is online playing the game and see if they're looking for others and not just playing with randoms.
